Positive Comments: I’ve never heard anything like this in my life. I don’t know what to make of it. Yet I couldn’t stop listening! I even picked out some Beatles-ish parts (Magical Mystery Tour era). The mix sounded good too. It sounds like you know what your doing as far as production. I choose “yes” for market potential because of the song’s originality.

Constructive Comments: Overall I thought the mix sounded good. There were some off drum patterns that forced me to notice them and take my ear off the vocals. I know it is a unique song but this was an unwanted diversion. I will be honest about the vocals. I could not understand most of the lyrics and I am not sure how to suggest to solve this since it is such a unique vocal delivery. I can’t tell if it was effected or natural.

Positive Comments: A very beautiful voice and song. I listened twice! The orchestration is awesome. The song overall makes me feel good and want to hear more. I think you have a winner here. With a couple of tweaks it is perfect. I believe this song at some point will be placed in something. Really great job and good luck with it. I’ve only reviewed a few songs after joining two weeks ago. This is the first one that made me pumped for someone else!

Constructive Comments: Vocal staring at 1:20, but not throughout needs a little EQ to soften it up. It sort of hurt my ears at times. Automation is your friend for this because in other parts the vocal sits real nice. There was point where the vocal is processed a little differently which is fine. I’m talking about where the vocal bites hard at the high end when the vocalist reaches for high notes. Also, I think it needs to come down a bit to sit more balanced in the orchestration throughout the song. Sometimes it does other times not. The orchestration is beautiful and needs to shine equally.

Positive Comments: The arrangement of this song is quite good. I sense a little Doobie Brothers vibe in the guitar work. Not throughout but starting at 2:10 guitar solo especially. It’s a very good solo too. The guitar tone is right on. I like the use of a pre-chorus. Overall I hear a classic rock sound.

Constructive Comments: The mix is muffled. It’s a good song but the mix has no life. No EQ or dynamics. I don’t think Mastering will solve this. It has to be worked on at the mix level because I do not think the vocals are seated in the pocket. Use a reference track next to this to help guide you. The very last drum hit at the end of the song is off and will need to be fixed too. Fix these things and you will have a winner.

Positive Comments: Sounds like you have a cool vibe that you can expand on. I hear a little Peter Gabriel happening. The parts a pretty cool. Both guitar parts, acoustic and electric are very well done. The repetition works for this tune.

Constructive Comments: You have a funny situation here. Parts of the mix sound well balanced. Mostly I guess the backing track. The vocal has no definition and I could not make out the words. It sounds like the vocal was added at a later date and balanced by someone else. Like the backing track was handed off to someone else. The drums go a little off in spots too. Fix both these things and you will have a very cool tune.

Positive Comments: This song has a haunting melody that kind of pulls you in. reminds me of Elvis Costello in a way. I get where you’re going with it in terms of the melody and chorus. You’re in a good spot. Overall I’d say you’re 80% there with it. It’s retro but could possible work in the current market. I wish you all the best and I hope these words gave you some encouragement.

Constructive Comments: The guitar work isn’t bad but you might consider working on your timing. I think the drum track you used is a little hard to play with. Perhaps you may look into a few programs like Addictive Drums. It will make your life a lot easier when it comes to writing not to mention playing along. I hope these suggestions find you well and I look forward to your next creation. Keep it flowin’

Positive Comments: I love the vocal and the melody. They are very strong. This is certainly a tune with strong possible film/TV potential. Again, I love the vocal very much, and would see the artist potential as stronger than the song potential (meaning, getting another person to do it)

Constructive Comments: The intro is going to be difficult getting radio play. Not sure this fits in the Country genre, but it might just be the arrangement. This seems very much an artist/writer tune, and good in that sense, rather than a song another artist might cut. Again, the tune,as a tune, is very good. But, not sure how well it will translate to 3rd parties cutting it. The biggest factor in this is the arrangement.

Positive Comments: I like the demo. The vocal and playing are very good and at a professional level. I can see this being a great tune to hear live.

Constructive Comments: My main concerns are two. There technically is a hook, but it is not enough of a hook to really grab me, and it doesn’t come up until after the songs been going a while. I’d like the hook to come in earlier. The hook is now the phrase “Ashes to Ashes all fall down.” The rest of the chorus, after this one listen, I am not sure what the chorus is. It is not sticking with me. A lot of good things about this song, just a more memorable chorus, with the phrase, would boost it in my memory.
