Constructive Comments: Very nice job on the whole, great horn charts. Having gone to this much effort it might not be bad idea to get real horn players. I’m not a gig fan of arbitrarily sticking shoobie doo wahs into arrangements. They come in once and sounds like filler, other than that a really nice job.

Positive Comments: Really great guitar work. Love the hard panning of said guitars. Lyrics are good too and will raise eyebrows… The vocals are good too. Nice timber of the voice. The song seem to have more of a Country/Rock crossover sound to it. That’s good and what you want. I can hear this in a scene of a movie.

Constructive Comments: I felt there was a little separation in the mix. The vocal was a little too isolated for me, too out front. The drums and bass don’t seem to hold the rhythm in the pocket. I think drums might be overplaying and the bass is not punchy enough. Also, sometimes you have to make a decision, do you want a lot reverb on the drums or the vocal? It’s not too bad here but less on the drums will define the VOC more and help sure up the rhythm section. Adding some harmonies later in the song will also help move it forward.

Positive Comments: A good song that I’m sure will resonate with a lot of Americans. I like that the lyrics explain the position. If it didn’t people might want to know “who took it?” You did a nice job in answering that question. The guitar work is very nice. Arrangement is good too. Nice work.

Constructive Comments: If I was the producer of this track I would add female backup singers sort singing a variation of the chorus. I don’t know what but it hit me right away. The chorus vocal is sort of dry which is OK but I like to hear something countering it. Also, I’d like to hear more guitar hard panned left and right to widen the stereo mix. Hard panning will not clutter the mix.
