Positive Comments: This is an interesting take on “Summertime”. The vocal presentation is very unique. The singer is very expressive with the character of her lyric delivery and vibrato. The instrumentation for this performance is unique as well. I enjoyed the utilization of the synthesized string ensemble throughout. The singer has a great set of pipes and I hope that I am able to hear more from this artist in the future.
Constructive Comments: The minimalist quality of the mix is very appropriate. However, it would be nice to hear, near the middle of the composition, an additional instrument, perhaps a mandolin, flute or recorder. This would add a bit of color. The performance could benefit from a bit of drama, i.e., utilization of the additional instrument. All-in-all, this is an excellent mix with outstanding production values. The mastering is very clear. It is nice to hear the reverb utilized on the singer’s voice.
