Positive Comments: Interesting sound on the lead guitar. Good balance between the instruments in the mix. I could hear this underneath a travel promotion, a “gotta get away” to a sunny beach.

Constructive Comments: I think the instruments could use a little more processing. The music is already a little slick sounding, which is part of its appeal. But a few more processing tricks applied to the instruments could make it even more slick sounding, all to good effect.

Thick Cut / Rock Funk by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Positive Comments: I like it! I could hear this as a soundtrack for a scene in a movie or on tv. Probably a comic scene with some disreputable types up to some no good. The guitar sound dominates, is raunchy and effective.

Constructive Comments: I think the balance is a little off. I’d experiment with the mix: either lower the sound of the guitar, then bring up the level of the whole track or bring the level of the drums and bass up to a level with the guitar.

Positive Comments: A very poignant remembrance of a tragic event. This has a 70s feel to it in the way the story is told.

Constructive Comments: I thought that the voice could have been mixed up front a little more. As I was listening to the song without the lyrics, I thought the title was “We Didn’t Have to Try.” Then I clicked on “view song lyrics” and realized my mistake. Still, the actual title, “Old Friends,” doesn’t really jump out.

Positive Comments: This actually isn’t a bad song, but it is more of a B-side. it was fun.

Constructive Comments: The intro really flirted with the “Highway to the Danger Zone”, and the ending needed an extra punch at the end, maybe a drum hit or something to really put the period on the sentence. The dramatic pause before every new verse was overused and by the end of the song was a bit gimmicky. The instrumental at around 1:47 seemed a little out of place, however the part where you rapped that little bit I thought was really good and should have been slid into that instrumentals place and thrown out the instrumental. The rap would have been more impactful earlier in the song, especially since it was short and sweet and those lyrics really helped to bolster the other lyrics.Be careful adding in too many electronic sound effects into your mix, most of them to me were unnecessary and just were kind of there without actually adding anything to the song. when it comes to those effects you have to be real judicial in how you use them, less is more. Please don’t take this comments as negative, I actually liked this song quite a bit for a bubble gum pop song. I am just trying to give you useful advice to make either this song or your future songs better because you have a good sound and potential.

Positive Comments: This song has potential, but it does have some flaws.

Constructive Comments: First the tempo is wrong, this song actually needs to be sped up a little, not a ton, but it needs to be faster. Of course if you do that then the fact that you don’t have any instrumental interludes between lyric sections becomes a real problem as your run time gets way too short.second, this song needs to be sung by a woman, unfortunately a man singing this song just sounds like whining.Third there are lyrical inconsistencies, “she could make your head spin” should be “she could make my head spin” The person singing is too focused on what she has done to him to worry about what she does to others. Every lyric needs to back up that idea of their relationship and not mix other people in there. Please don’t take these comments negatively, this song HAS market potential, just needs to be cleaned up and a little more work, and a female singer wouldn’t hurt either. Keep in mind that is not saying your singing is bad, it is saying your singing is a bad fit for this song when it would be more poignant and marketable coming from a woman.
