Song: Send It In Down / Hip Hop Dance
Reviewer: Just Jordan
Positive Comments: It has some good vibe and originality in the melodies and instrumentation.
Constructive Comments: I think it kind of jumps between genres and is confusing for the listener. It has what sounds like the standard karaoke synth pad and bells, then jumps to a screaming guitar. I think maybe separating the 2 instruments and making 2 songs out of it would be beneficial. The one with the pads and bells is just very different from the guitar.

Constructive Comments: The instrumental during the verses is a bit repetitive, it does break down at the end but maybe dropping out some instruments would help to keep the excitement. It sounds to me like a homemade beat, with a sub-par mix. If this is a demo, then no need to worry it serves its purpose. If this is for release I would look into having it mixed/mastered or possibly shopping around for beats from producers with a little more experience.

Positive Comments: It’s catchy and overall I would say it’s a nice instrumental. The horns are cool and I like the rise.
Constructive Comments: I think it’s a tad repetitive, and could use some more definition in where is the chorus and where is the verse. Also, some type of bridge or breakdown would add tremendous value to it.

Broadjam Artist: The Watchman
Song: Hold On
Reviewer: Jeff Roberts
Positive Comments: Totally liking this right from the opening groove that could be an Alabama Shakes tune. And it just keeps getting better with the tasty Wurlitzer keys and relaxed, soulful vocals that sound a bit like Ry Cooder. Phil Cook is a more contemporary reference. There’s a classic Gospel feel underneath this, and there are some superb lyrics, with a slam dunk hook on the chorus. Hearing tunes like this is what makes reviewing worth the time and effort–this is excellent!
Constructive Comments: There are a few places where I think you need to fix the pitch of the vocals. More harmony vocals coming in behind would do so much to this–imagine if you have the Blind Boys of Alabama coming in. Listen to The Blind Boys of Alabama & Taj Mahal – What Can I Do? This is so so good but make it GREAT.

Song: Nick Fuse & Jim Pearson: No More
Reviewer: Massimo Carola
Positive Comments: I like that song, very intimate and powerful.
Constructive Comments: It’s a great song recording in general. The only improvement I can suggest is related to the ambiance of the piano that seems to belong to another world. It’s really distracting. Also, the left side guitar sometimes obscures the lead vocal in the tentative to be dynamic, I hear also a few distorted chords in the highest dynamic part. Also, this has the effect of distracting from the lyrics.

Positive Comments: There are some very strong elements here. It has a late 70’s Soul feel or even 80’s Vandross. Nice slinky minor progression.
Constructive Comments: Sounds like this was brought over from a tape? The ride cymbal is distorted and very brittle sounding and it’s way too loud in the mix–getting in the way of the vocals. Overall the mix has a too-crisp high end. The groove could use a more flowing bassline that doesn’t stop and leave space. The vocal is distorted. Lyrically it’s not really coming through with a clear message. This could be a really strong tune with just some simple things done…

Song: Call My Name
Reviewer: Massimo Carola
Positive Comments: Beautiful song. Very interesting too. I think it has a great potential.
Constructive Comments: I want to say that there is little to say about the quality of the song. In my taste, I would have put the backing vocals a bit darker and lower in level. Also, the choice of the bass drum sound and the snare drum sound is too electronic and I feel a more organic sound would help to keep the mood in place. There is a lot to room to improve the mix too. But in general is a great, high-quality song.

Song: What Do They Know (Beyonce mix)
Reviewer: Jeff Roberts
Positive Comments: Lovely vocal quality here! This reminds me of Deniece Williams. The lyrics, melody, and harmony are so pleasing, and the overall gentle approach is so nice. The “high as we can go” moment is fantastic, and here it’s getting into the Gospel realm, which I love.
Constructive Comments: I really like what you’re doing, but I think you have some architectural work to do yet to get the song crafted where it needs to be. The overall sound isn’t quite full and present–the full EQ range isn’t there and the vocals could be bigger. The guitar is a bit too big in the mix relative to the vocals. I think the arrangement is a bit meandering and you don’t have as much impact as you could with more structure. Putting a gentle drums and bass groove underneath would be good IMO.Who & what song could you point to and say “I want it to be like that” ? Love your voice, and would love to hear this tune brought to potential. If you ever want more feedback/input holler!

Song: Chasing After The Wind
Reviewer: Margie & Art Corey
Positive Comments: It almost sounds 60’s psychedelic. It’s very creative and a nice stab at protest music from the Hippy Music Era. I wish the vocal was a tad louder in volume, sometimes it’s hard to understand every lyric. It’s has a hypnotic feel and keeps the listener engaged, grand job…let’s hear more!!
Constructive Comments: Maybe turn up the volume on the Lead Vocal, I want to hear every lyric!
