Positive Comments: There are some very strong elements here. It has a late 70’s Soul feel or even 80’s Vandross. Nice slinky minor progression.
Constructive Comments: Sounds like this was brought over from a tape? The ride cymbal is distorted and very brittle sounding and it’s way too loud in the mix–getting in the way of the vocals. Overall the mix has a too-crisp high end. The groove could use a more flowing bassline that doesn’t stop and leave space. The vocal is distorted. Lyrically it’s not really coming through with a clear message. This could be a really strong tune with just some simple things done…
