Song: Remember When (Pop Instru)

Reviewer: Mike Cantwell – TalentEast Productions

Positive Comments: Great! Enjoyed it.

Constructive Comments: I have one almost identical except with Guitar and synthesizer orchestra. My thought was the Guitar is the male and the synth is the female and the male raises the intensity of the song and the female responds. Mine is dated/old school synth and so is yours. The drums could use a little “humanize” to not sound so programmed. All-in-all very nice.

Song: This Song Has No Hook (instr)

Reviewer: Mike Cantwell – TalentEast Productions

Positive Comments: OK soundtrack. A little Indian sound and evolves into a solid Classic Rock driven beat.

Constructive Comments: Abrupt change at 0:34 is too abrupt. I listened twice and I don’t like the transition. First time, I thought it was a flaw in the recording.

Song: WOULDN’T LIFE BE EASY?

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: This is a song of many questions, and they are good questions about life, war, injustice. There’s a lot of aged wisdom here that still remembers how young people think. This is a deep song. Perhaps it started out as a poem and someone made it into a song. Great lyric: The science of the pain. Great rhymes: stride/pride, hard/cards. I found myself trying to second-guess what the expected word would be at the end of phrases and found the artist picking another word than I thought of. Points for originality!

Constructive Comments: There is no musical introduction to this song the artist just dives right in. Come up with an intro that sets the song up nicely. Fix the outro it’s too abrupt. This is a song without a chorus. Could you try writing one for it?

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: It’s obvious from the outset that this is one tight band that has been playing together for a long time (or sounds like they have anyway!) I really like the drum intro. It sets the song up nicely. This is a song of the past “We used to …” Lots of memories.

Constructive Comments: Where is GreenTree? The ending is totally cut off. Please check to see if you need to re-upload this track. The verse lyrics seem more cohesive to me than the chorus. Actually the chorus doesn’t really make sense to me in relation to the verse lyrics. Maybe there’s something I am not getting here?

Song: Do you right

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Plaintive, haunting, lonely, sad. These words describe this melancholy post-love song. The guitar playing suits the mood and vocals well. “I’m a river let me flow” is a great lyric. There is some effective internal rhyming here (shades/crave). This song asks a lot of questions, and the answers are left to the imagination. Nice job on the vocals!

Constructive Comments: The chord timing seems to be off at 1:28. Is the catch in your voice (like 1:06) natural for your style of singing, or are you trying to imitate another artist? Hope to hear more of your work!
