Positive Comments: Great nostalgic/retro pop groove. I liked the lead vocal style of this tune very “laid back” with no pretense of trying to impress with a trained voice. The simplicity of the instrumentation and percussion lends itself well to the overall feel of this tune. The blend of the instrumental accompaniment was very good.

Constructive Comments: The lead vocal could be mixed/eq’ed stronger the voice quality was just right for this piece, but needed to be more “out front”. There is some extraneous noise evident in the recording, which can certainly be edited out.

Positive Comments: Tight and funky. Nice mellow jazz progressions with a harder edge bridge. Nice guitar solo and sax too! The vocals are really smooth mellow with really cool melody and phrasing. Drums and bass are grooving hard. Very enjoyable tune!!

Constructive Comments: This is a vocal tune, and the vocals don’t come in until :34. Make it happen in

Constructive Comments: This is a vocal tune, and the vocals don’t come in until :34. Make it happen in < 20 secs. The intro is just fine but it's filler jazz and doesn't make sense as a "listen to this" intro--come right on in with the vocals. Actually that chromatic riff--I think I'd cut that out (save it for the break where it make more sense) and just come in with the groove that's at :25The guitar is way too washed out with flange. You end right where a nice sax solo should start... All IMO of course.

Positive Comments: Oh that is a wickedly cool intro–the work of the drums, and how the guitar comes in against the beat with some reverse sound and super tasty tone. There is an AWESOME tune in the arrangement and instrumental performances here.

Constructive Comments: The vocals are a bit pitchy–you need to go back and carefully fix. The phrasing is very legato and long held notes–it’s working against the tune and your voice–this kind of singing is hard to pull off and regardless I think it weighs down the tune. If you switch to something a bit more punchy–going behind the beat instead of being bound to it, and with less dramatic melody ambitions I think it will serve your voice and the tune better. I LOVE what this tune is doing in the arrangement. If you would like a “producer” input I would really really like to participate in this. Actually I’m gonna ask you: send me the instrument and let me work on the lyrics and melody/phrasing and send the concept back to you to sing. The lyrics are a bit pedantic –the concept is great but it’s too plodding and obvious when it should be more mysterious. I think there’s real genius in this sound. All IMO of course…

Constructive Comments: This sounds like a recording of playing a YouTube video and the person is singing another song over while playing it. This is SO not working. But there’s a really cool tune lurking here–I sure would like to hear it done to potential. The drums–they need to accompany not go into wild tangents.

Constructive Comments: I was having some trouble hearing the lyrics so it was difficult in that sense but it also added to the feeling of the track! i ended up listening to it a couple more times and it gets better every time i play it!

Positive Comments: My Woman from Tokayo!!! (Deep Purple) This sounds like a Joan Jett tune with powerful punk energy in the vocals and huge attitude.

Constructive Comments: Intro–with no backup underneath because it’s kinda of a stark riff and the note with 5th under tends to be a little out of tune (for anyone–that’s just the nature of that riff). And more importantly it gets out of sync with the rhythm. During the chorus I think chords rather than the riff would sound a lot smoother. With the drums, vocals, bass, and guitar all going On Tar Get On Tar Get it’s really stark and empty.

Positive Comments: This sounds more like folky country, which is quite alright–oh no mistaking–this is Tristyn. This is a strong tune, and the thumping kick is really key. I can hear it breaking into a full beat and just killing when that happens. Oh wait you did that, but much later at 4mins in which is really late. There’s a very cool coda teaser that sounds like it should be opening up into a big rock arrangement. Lyrics and structure are very solid here. Nice work!

Constructive Comments: OK I’ll get on the vocal soapbox again–could you do this without the vocal fry (constricted throat)? If that’s not option ignore the suggestion. What about doing with a Dylan like speaking voice??? That might be a lightning strike. But…watch those falling pitch notes like ‘gla-ance’ etc.
