Song: On My Way Back to You (new version)

Positive Comments: This song has all the elements of a good country song. It is very professionally produced with wonderful instrumentation. Great fiddle intro and playing throughout. The lyrics tell the story of a man who’s made some mistakes but is on his way back to his love. This writer keeps it simple and understandable. The lyrics (though predictable) work well, with good word economy. Crystal clear vocal. “ran in circles like lost boys do” great lyric. Way to go – telling a good story in less than 3 minutes! Nice ending!

Constructive Comments: Please post the lyrics to your song. Maybe add a little harmony, but it’s great just as it is.

Positive Comments: If this group were billed at the local folk festival, I’d definitely put them on my list of groups to hear. I’m assuming that this is a rendition of a traditional folk song about men going off to war. It’s the lament of the families they left behind. The minor tune with poignant vocals and beautiful harmonies are so pleasing to the ear and hugely effective in communicating the sad emotions of the song. Love the fiddle and guitar too. There’s a lot to love in this song. Bravo! Ten stars!

Constructive Comments: I tried to google some of the lyrics to see if this was your original song and I couldn’t figure it out. I’ve never heard it before. As far as marketability goes, you’d probably have to shorten it. The intro, though beautiful, is soooo long (a whole minute). I enjoyed every note of it though. PLEASE post the lyrics to this song. And keep up the great work…I loved it! Mrs. Kate

Song: Malcontents And Sycophants ( folk vocal)

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: This writer has a creative way to use words like few other writers do. This is a very original liberal political treatise with a direct hit to the conservative camp. The writer has found his partner who believes as he does and together they stand. Love this line: Through all the hate and vitriol, No one can take away our dreams. Instrumentation is great, nice piano intro. Crystal clear vocal. Love the drums, especially at the ending.

Constructive Comments: upmost should probably be utmost. I’ve already heard this song before, Warren. Glad you can still have conversations with a conservative Christian like me! I haven’t stopped praying and believing in the power of God and His love, and that His people are to overcome evil with good. I refuse to take part in the hate and vitriol.

Positive Comments: Somebody knows how to tell a good story in song! Add to that a very catchy hook and this song’s a winner all around. And did I mention the very fun instrumentation? Crystal clear vocals? All the elements of a great country song are here.

Constructive Comments: Okay, this song leaves me with some questions. What in the world does sluffrich mean? Hiding in a laboratory? Is this a true story or did you make the whole thing up? Is Curly Top a reference to Shirley Temple? “keeping that winna honed?” Jeff, you’ve got some explaining to do, ha ha! Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: As far as instrumentals go, this is a very pleasing listen. I’d sure rather listen to this as “hold” music to a jillion other things I’ve been subjected to. Nice drums, nice hook. There’s just nothing I’d change about this track. Someone obviously worked very hard on it. Nice ending.

Constructive Comments: Keep making great music! You have a great talent to share with the world.

Positive Comments: This song appears to be a statement of loss and then being found/set free in the music, in the performance of the song in front of a dancing audience. Love the first 2 lines about bleeding blue, sleeping in the rain – paints a good picture of loss and the lonely heart. Love the riff after insane – really suits the lyric! The intro is very effective and builds up into the song nicely.

Constructive Comments: This song could definitely be shortened to about 3 minutes – might make it more marketable? I think the ending could be a little more conclusive. What are the “lies of green?” Other questions: Why “I’m some kind of freak” and blame (on the line). Just some things about this song that I didn’t get. But I am 68…and this is not my genre. Could be the reason, ha ha.

Positive Comments: Here’s an interesting jazz composition. Someone obviously put a lot of work into this. Love the bass intro and rhythm that brings unity to the whole piece. Even though it’s rather repetitive, it never seems boring. Nice work on the keys love the piano sample. Fun rhythms. This piece is pleasing to the ears!

Constructive Comments: Ending way too abrupt. Work on a more conclusive ending.
