Song: Rockin On Saturday Night

Positive Comments: A classic country sound with a rock flair. There is a poignancy and likability in the singer’s voice that is undeniable. Warren Zevon’s voice comes to mind. Fine arrangement and production.
Constructive Comments: This song works well as it is. One can always tinker, but maybe would be better in this case to move on and write the next one, an even better one. One that tells a story? — In any case, a job well done here!

Song: Soft Stuff
Reviewer: Tony Tersmette
Positive Comments: I appreciate and respect the gtr chops and vox as well. If not a cover (can’t say for sure…), song is perhaps not terribly original but definitely a good fit for the genre. Definitely a showcase for the guitarist, bass and drums serve well in their supportive roles. If that ain’t GB playing and singing in there (!), then song is certainly a tribute to his genius.
Constructive Comments: If I can make one suggestion. The keybd/synth part that appears briefly at :55 and again at 1:36 could be somewhat more engaging in some fashion or other? Or maybe it’s me. Anyway, I like this stuff!

Song: Kitschy Kitschy Kool Coreys
Reviewer: Tony Tersmette
Positive Comments: Very nice. Earthy yet smooth. Absolutely modern yet with firm blues roots. Vocalist is super. Lyrics are exemplary, paint a great picture/portrait. Instrumentation perfectly adapted to/in the service of the vocal. Excepting the sax, me thinks all electronic, but no way overbearing or misplaced at any point. it’s perfect. I like the pan spread, great production.
Constructive Comments: I have no criticism really, am thinking that maybe the lady singing could find a place in there for a smoldering high D note? Just a thought. She clearly has what it takes. A fine recording. Hudos!

Positive Comments: Pleasant choice of patches for the synth. The bass slams well, too. This could so easily have been the starting of a prog epic from the 70s! The variations around the basic theme, the inter-weaving patterns make me vote for this to be more in the prog genre than in pop. I don’t know where this can be commercialy used, though, but hey, what do I know!
Constructive Comments: I would have liked to see the 3/3 transforming to a 4/3 or 4/4 sometime during the song. The stuff starting at 2:10 should build up more and reach a huge crescendo, I think. Everything else is perfect in this track.
