Positive Comments: So you’ve got some good elements here…I like the harmonica, you’ve got good vocal pitch, and pretty good instrumentation.

Constructive Comments: 1. Nudge your background vocals so they’re synced up with the beat2. The song reminded me too much of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “The House is Rockin'”….to the point I thought this might be a cover, at first. So, I scored you low on originality, particularly as it pertains to lyrics.3. There is no hook…I can’t tell what the song is called because there’s no lyric that repeats enough for me to identify what the hook is.

Positive Comments: Great arrangement! This song has a very cool vibe.

Constructive Comments: I don’t get rock vibes from this one, at all. I’d re-categorize it as “Country – traditional”. When I think country-rock, I think bands like Brothers Osborne or Chris Stapleton

Positive Comments: The instrumentation and the arrangement are excellent!

Constructive Comments: Lyrically, this is unoriginal, to me. There are sooo many songs about dirt on boots, mud on tires, pretty girls in bars, and cleanin’ up good, and you captured those ideas using the exact same lyrics as Brad Paisley, Jon Pardi, and Blake Shelton. I’d rework the lyrics to capture the same idea in a more fresh way?

Positive Comments: You’ve got a great voice that has a very unique sound!

Constructive Comments: I would classify this as “country – traditional”…it gave me no “rock” vibes, at all. The “Sittin’ here” lyric gets a bit repetitive and doesn’t really tell much of a story, to me? We could all write a song about the various places we sit during the day, but I felt like there needed to be more description of what else happened that was interesting, to make this stand out more from other songs about sittin’ around, like Darius Rucker’s “Life’s Too Short” and Travis Tritt’s “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive”. You’ve got the pipes to make a song like that, so I’d just re-work the lyrics and make your guitar sound a little less vintage!

Positive Comments: Great voice, great country sound, and great instrumentation!

Constructive Comments: I never know what to answer for the “does this have market potential?” question…I put two stars there because I think this sound is too twangy for the sync world, but it would work as your own artist cut. The hook is original, and memorable, and you did a nice job with the pause just before you sing it, to make it stand out. But, I gave two stars for the lyrics because of the direction the world is heading…towards gender fluidity and gender equality, rather than “women are women, and men are men”. Musically, you’re not tone deaf, but the lyrics to this song will come across that way to a LOT of people.

Positive Comments: You’ve got a good voice and a unique sound.

Constructive Comments: Your hook, lyrically, is fine, but it doesn’t stand out enough in the song. Can you change the melody on it and drag out some notes and maybe echo the word bliss with some harmony bgvs? “when igorance waaaaaaas bliss (bliss bliss bliss bliss). Also, I would change the rhyming scheme so you rhyme with a different sound in each verse…it was just too much “iss” when the whole song rhymed with that one sound. Lastly, this is not country-rock…it’s country jazz (with the sax), or just straight country. There are no rock & roll elements to this song – recommend reclassifying!

Positive Comments: The intro is really funky! I knew I would enjoy this from the start. As the song develops, so does the musicality of all the parts of the arrangement (in a really good way). The vocals fit the genre very well too!

Constructive Comments: There are a few elements in the mix that (as good as it is) make it feel like a semi-demo. But this is mostly in the mix rather than something missing instrumentally. The snares could do with a bit more reverb and the different instruments/channels taking up more distinctive positions and blends in the stereo field. Adding some delay may be good for blending and binding some tracks into the rest of the mix. Good luck!!
