Positive Comments: Piano work is awesome. Pop / Jazz feel without being crass. You have achieved that thin line of commercially appealing without compromising on musicality!!!

Constructive Comments: The piano is very constant. Perhaps you could give it some rests, some crescendo?I personally think varying the pace of the song in various sections would add more character, instead of letting it stick to a constant bpm.

Positive Comments: You have chosen the pitch of the song very well. It could have easily gotten very shrill with the horns leading the whole piece or gotten too gruff, but this is perfect!Very “street music” feel with the mix.

Constructive Comments: Perhaps you could add some roadside spectator cheers to some sections, so it actually feels like a parade?I would personally like the bass frequencies boosted up a bit, to be honest.

Song: Gravity Coreys KILLER SAX

Reviewer: Floyd Kelly

Positive Comments: I found this song in the Unique – Unclassified department and was surprised when a singer suddenly wants to know what’s keeping us apart tonight. This is a mix of jazzy saxophone elements, electronic sounding vibes, a male singer and some backing vocals. The man singing has a nice voice.

Constructive Comments: I think this song needs a re-mix. The male singer has a nice voice, but seems the mixing volume does not allow him to shine. There are elements in this song that are having a negative impact on the overall value of vocal entertainment. There is a synth calliope sound that is constant throughout the song that takes away from focusing on the man singing. I like the jazzy elements such as the sax. The beat/bass seems lacking. Overall, I think too much is going on to allow the listener to focus on the vocalist. The volume on this piece needs work. I would like to hear more from this artist as he does have a pleasant voice.

Positive Comments: I got lucky! I was in the mood for microwaving some delicious burritos and this piece of music was presented to me for review. The Universe must be in-sync today because this piece of music is perfect for waiting for a piping hot burrito to come out of the microwave. This is a short electronic mish-mash of sounds that would work as a backdrop to a sci-fi scene perhaps, maybe where futuristic burritos are being eaten by aliens maybe.

Constructive Comments: This is a difficult sound to review. As far a musicality goes, it seems to be lacking in that department. As I mentioned previously in this review, it may work for a sci-fi scene in film/tv. Although, I think work needs to be done in the sound-mixing department to bring the volume in-check and perhaps some layering. Adding some variations in velocity may better this piece. I was entertained though and my burrito tastes really good.

Positive Comments: Firstly, this is a beautiful song and very catchy. The ambience is superb with it’s carefree summery vibe. Lovely vocal performance. Great lyrics. The guitar solo at 2.22 is phenomenal. I can imagine Melody Gardot singing this song.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the arrangement because I think of some of the instruments, such as bass and drums need a slightly lighter touch to allow the subtleties of the song to come through. For example the drummer could have used brushes and an acoustic bass might work well here. Overall though, a great song.

Song: Always Beautiful

Reviewer: David James

Positive Comments: Really nice intro. I like the offbeat rhythmic qualities of the song. The contrast between the spiky verses and the melodic ‘You are always’ chorus works really well. The chorus is very catchy. Superb change for the bridge at 1.47. Anthemic and dynamic outro. Strong vocal performance. Beautifully crafted lyrics – simple but effective.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the instrumentation because I think that the patch on the guitar that comes in at 0.13 is too harsh and scratchy. Other than that the song is hard to fault.

Positive Comments: Love the beginning of this track – strong use of electronic instruments giving great dramatic effect.Good use of instrumentation and vocalese throughout – this could lend itself well to a TV drama or thriller.

Constructive Comments: As the track is short, there is no real structure in the sense of verse/chorus, etc. However, I imagine that this could be used a cue.

Positive Comments: I found this piece of music in the Classical – Romantic genre. A harpsichord and warm pad entice the listener with a sense of longing and soothing quietness. While listening to this, my mind drifts to the 1970s era with music backdrops to romantic movies.

Constructive Comments: I wish there was better instrumentation in this piece of music. The harpsichord could have been a nice piano and the electronic warm pad could have been a nice string ensemble. As stated in the previous section of this review, I was reminded of romantic movies from the 70s somehow. With an update to this music in the mixing and instrumentation, I think this music piece could do nicely in the New Age genre. I apologize to the artist for such low marks on this music piece, it is primarily due to the fact that I selected a “Classical – Romantic” piece and was disappointed with a mostly electronic piece of music – at least that is what my ear heard. This piece of music is not unpleasant to listen to, I just wish it was more refined.
