Song: Mi Una Y Solamente/Piano and Guitar

Reviewer: Floyd Kelly

Positive Comments: While listening to this, I pictured myself in a restaurant in a far away place with this music being performed as I enjoyed an elegant dinner. This piece of music reminds me of the 20 or 30s era and probably would be good for film/tv with a scene as depicted here in my review. I enjoyed listening to this piece of music.

Constructive Comments: My negative marks on this piece of music are mostly for instrumentation. There are a few portions where it seems a horn is played but does not seem to fit. There seems to be a guitar that is panned to the right which could have been centered a bit in the mix. The piano could use some work to brighten just a bit or give some warmth. In relation to my previous comments regarding placement in film/tv, the piano sound as-is would fit right in if the media needed a 20s or 30s-style piece of music. I played this twice and on the second time, the guitar panned to the right was once again distracting as also was the horn which appears toward the beginning and around the 2:30 mark. This piece of music is not unpleasant.

Positive Comments: There is some really nice instrumentation in this piece of music and some interesting chord progressions. I like the chorus portion. The singer has a nice voice. I like how this piece of music was interesting and I wanted to keep listening.

Constructive Comments: I played this twice because I had trouble understanding the enunciation of the singer, I like this piece of music. On the second play of this song, I could understand a bit better. Kudos on this song. I classified this as Pop genre, I found this in the Unique-Unclassified genre. My negative marks were only for not understanding the singer in a few areas, my apologies.

Positive Comments: This is a peaceful and yet entertaining piece of electronic music that invokes a foreign or worldly feel. I like this piece of music, listened twice. This piece of music is different than power driven electronic music that many are accustomed to hearing. I can tell much thought went into this piece of music. I liked the reverb on the electronic piano.

Constructive Comments: Even though this is placed in the Electronic genre with a few variations in the mix, this would be a good fit in the New Age genre. The beat/percussion comes in too late in the piece and then as I was getting used to the percussion portion, the piece ends. Perhaps making the piece of music a bit longer or bringing in the percussion portion earlier. I would have given higher marks on arrangement if the percussion portion was different. I did enjoy listening to this piece of music.

Positive Comments: This is a sad piece of music, meaning that it invokes a feeling of sadness. It is also a peaceful piece of music with a simple piano providing a driving rhythm in the background and a violin/viola providing the character with it’s loneliness. Even though this piece of music invokes a sadness, I did enjoy listening to this music.

Constructive Comments: Even though the dryness of the viola works, I think some reverb on the viola would have been nice to soften the piece of music with a little more warmth. The piano seems electronic without any variation in velocity and a few notes seemed out of pitch. I would haven given higher marks if the piano had some variation and was more warm in tone. Even though, I liked this piece of music.

Positive Comments: This is a nice piece of music to listen to for relaxation. There are a few surprises with instrumentation which come into play in this piece. I wish it was slightly longer, as I enjoyed listening. So I played this twice.

Constructive Comments: I enjoyed listening to this piece of music. I do think the strings seem to be off with respect to modulation giving an unrealistic flair to the string section especially with the long held notes in the upper register. As for a meditative genre, the percussion may not fit unless classified in a different genre.

Positive Comments: This piece of music reminds of being outdoors on a sunny day enjoying nature. Definitely a skilled guitarist at work in this piece of music. This would be a good piece of music to listen to on a Saturday afternoon while lounging around the home in relaxation.

Constructive Comments: I think the upper frequencies (3,000-6,000 KHz) for the guitar need to be cut some in the mix. The particulars of the guitar noises detracts from the “New Age” feel. If the upper frequencies were toned down this would be a “New Age” piece, but because of that I thought “Country” was a better genre. Nice playing on the guitar. The piece seemed too short to discern a hook. Thank you for creating this piece of music, I listened twice.

Reviewer: Floyd Kelly

Positive Comments: This is an original piece of music that reminds me of smooth Jazz. I like the brassy flavor of sound. There are lot of differing elements in this piece to keep the listener’s ear. This is a good piece of music to listen to while studying, reading, drinking a glass of wine on a late Saturday night at home.

Constructive Comments: I was unable to detect a hook and the differing elements seem to pull away from the jazzy sax. There are some nice panning of elements. I think this piece of music needs a re-mix for loudness and possibly remove the repetitive bell sound that seems to distract from the experience. I found this piece of music in the New Age – Meditative section that being said, I think it is more Jazz. I did have an enjoyable experience listening to this piece of music.

Positive Comments: On an ordinary Tuesday…September 11. It will forever be etched in our minds and this song is a great historical piece/reminder of that terrible day in 2001. Great message and metaphors “stolen silver arrows” (excellent) and the falling leaves representing the lost loved ones. You are right. We lost them all and they were part of us. Finely crafted song. Bravo!

Constructive Comments: I know who you are Coreys…this is one of your best! Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: The introduction sounded so ethereal. It was liquid, underwater stuff. Very original sounding and mysterious. Loved the drums. Whoever put this track together knew was they were doing. Very creative production. Never gets boring. I like an instrumental with a repetitive hook that you can remember. This one does it well. Bravo!

Positive Comments: Here’s a great “father to son” country song full of wise advice…it tells a good story. I love that line “you come by it honestly”. Who of us hasn’t seen a hard-headed, stubborn kid forge ahead into dangerous territory without listening to wisdom? This song has a fantastic message. I absolutely loved it. Nice guitar work and other instrumentation complements the production well. Nice mix. Great vocal. Excellent lyric writing.

Constructive Comments: The only time I had to consult the lyrics was for the bridge.
