Positive Comments: First thing to say is I really like this! After a couple of listens the tune really grew on me. It’s hard to come up with an original country waltz time melody but you managed it very nicely indeed. Some great musicality and a nice arrangement.I could hear this as a piece of background music or as a TV theme tune. Good job, and good luck with it.

Constructive Comments: Just some thoughts. There was lots of great picking/lead playing in the first part of the song but from about 1.20 for a while the lead instruments took more of a backseat. I had the taste by then and wanted to hear more! Please don’t think I’m being critical, it’s just that I really like the track but my last comment is that it has been very quietly recorded. A bit more gain would be good.I love this, thanks for the opportunity to hear it.

Positive Comments: Very good emotional melody that feels somber, spiritual, like reaching a realization, a climax. What movie wouldn’t want to include something like that in its script! The progression from organ, acoustic guitar, to electric guitar intensifies the feeling within its splendid arrangement. It’s like Carlos Santana or Jimmy Page adding their interpretations to Vangelis.

Constructive Comments: Just a thought for something to experiment with: how about changing the melody to a higher key at around 1:20 to add even more of a feeling of climbing higher to a conclusion?

Positive Comments: Did you like specific instrumental parts, lyrics–wanted more of story too general with current lyrics music–Chorus melody I enjoyed I wanted more of a backstory for this song. What: V1 = Introduce the big idea Chorus 1 = what’s the big idea V2 = what’s next? Why keep listening Chorus 2 = say the big idea again Bridge = what’s next? Why keep listening? / this is what a listener takeaways Outro = unresolved / open for listener’s interpretation 1) Does my intro make you want to hear the song? Somewhat 2) Does my opening line draw you in and make you want to hear more? Some what 3) Is my melody interesting? some what 4) Does my melody get stuck in your head? no 5) Does my chorus stand out and take the song to a higher place? yes

Constructive Comments: This was a beautiful piano demo and great vocal. I just wanted more details–story in pictures to this lyric. 6) Is my chorus easy to sing along with after one listen? yes 7) What does my song make the listener want to do? Dance? Cry? Laugh? Sing? Cry 8) What universal emotion does my song tap into? Longing 9) Is my idea strong enough to carry an entire song? yes 10) Would I want to listen to this over and over in my car? Maybe with a better backstory.

Positive Comments: Wow. When the song started I was expecting a laid back Steely Dan style song, and I wasn’t expecting the lead guitar to come in at 0.57 and then the power chords at 1.23. It goes without saying that the guitar playing is first class as is the drumming and bass. The quality of the recording is excellent. The whole piece is dynamic and engaging.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the market potential a notch because in the fickle world of film or TV music supervisors the requirement might be for a laid back or a full blooded heavy metal piece, but possibly not both within the same track. That said, it’s a great piece of work.

Positive Comments: I like the ‘Yes’ style intro and the way the track builds with the introduction of the haunting vocal at 0.58 and the change of direction at 1.36. I really like the solo vocalist who delivers the song with great passion and she has a terrific voice. A very engaging song which keeps the listener engaged throughout. The song is very dynamic. The instrumentation and quality of the recording are excellent. Very professional.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the marketability not because I dislike the song, but because it has a prog rock feel that isn’t very current. One point, the lyrics would be easier to review were they uploaded. Overall an excellent piece of work which sounds even better with repeated listening.

Positive Comments: The structure of the song is great. The verses build tension and then find release in the ‘Oh Yeah’ chorus, which is sublime great use of light and shade there. I like the acoustic vibe of the song and the instrumentation is excellent. Lovely feel to the song, very atmospheric.

Constructive Comments: Normally I don’t like a 1,2,3,4 count-in but in this case it works, however I didn’t understand the relevance of the sound of the sea(?) at the end. I would have just ended it with the vocal. I’ve marked down the lyrics because I couldn’t get a handle on the theme of the song. This might be an edit of a longer song, so forgive me if my next observation is irrelevant, however I think the song is strong enough to merit more than a minute. I would have liked to have heard a full length song.

Constructive Comments: Not quite sure of the genre. Although I asked to review country there doesn’t seem to be much of a country vibe to the song. Still a great song though. Well done!
