Positive Comments: Beautiful intro. Great vocal with excellent delivery of what must be a tricky song to sing. Effective use of backing vocals. Really clever and engaging lyrics..quite moving to be honest. The melody is sublime and the instrumentation is lovely and really well balanced. The recording is excellent. Great sound quality.

Constructive Comments: If I was going to be really picky I’d suggest that the word ‘Butterfly’ which occurs throughout the song, could be replaced by ‘flutterby’, ‘my oh my’ or something similar, just to mix it up a bit.Overall though a superb piece of work. I’m going to add it to my playlist.

Positive Comments: The vocal on this song is sensational and makes an immediate impact on the listener. The singer doesn’t just perform the song she lives it which is an incredible talent. The male backing singer is very effective too. The lyrics are excellent and paint a verbal picture. I like the way the instrumentation builds then pulls back giving the listener tension and release. In fact the instrumentation overall is phenomenal. The The song is catchy, melodic and memorable. All in all great work. It reminds me somewhat of Bonnie Tyler, but this is better than anything I’ve heard from her.

Constructive Comments: Nothing more to add. Great work.

Positive Comments: I love it when you get into the verse, “It’s an EXCELLENT DAY!” That definitely is the hook, and you wisely repeat it over and over. It’s a let’s get it on song, loaded with phrases that are cliches but they work! Instruments, studio work, recording, is superb. Sounds just the way good ol’ rock and roll should sound. Vocals have the everyday kind of guy appeal and sang very well. Overall, makes me feel like going outside among the grass and the trees, lay back and having a beer!

Constructive Comments: Just personal stuff, so it doesn’t affect the scoring. It’s heavy on cliches which I try to avoid, but how the hell can you completely avoid it? Yes, you could paint more pictures lyrically which would give that extra spark of originality, but, as I said, the words work. In a way, it works to have it as a song you don’t have to think about the words, just groove to it. I’d absolutely put this song on as a popular album cut. Nice job!

Positive Comments: Love the sparseness of the instrumentation, it makes you pay attention to the lyrics more. The lead vocals work very well in this song, you can hear the angst, the sorrow, the hurt so very well. Once the harmonies and the other instruments come in the chorus, they are really a nice change of pace and very pleasing to the ear. Nicely done, enjoyed it very much.

Constructive Comments: I wouldn’t change a thing, it all works very well.

Constructive Comments: Well I expected to be reviewing a song. With that being said it’s hard to judge what this could be. I also there it could use a little more bass of some sort.

Constructive Comments: Well I expected to be reviewing a song but this is obviously just a beat with a hook so I am interested in how the song would turn out maybe a little more blending with the male vocals but it sounds good

Song: Wake Up

Reviewer: John Walradt

Positive Comments: You have a very good melody with a punchy tempo and beat and a lot of energy. The electric guitar compliments it well. The melody stands on its own well enough that it could be played with a single acoustic guitar and voice. Nice slow break in the middle, like the structure of “Carry On” by Stephen Stills, which adds interest to the melody and arrangement. Lyrically a terrific anthem and wake up call that has universal appeal: who hasn’t been fed up from being caged by society’s expectations and wanting the fulfillment in life that everyone else enjoys? Time to break the chains! If only the rest of the world would come to its senses and see the light!

Constructive Comments: This is where I put my own personal preferences and bias, which doesn’t really have a place in my ratings. This is probably just nitpicky. I always wonder how to get away from phrases that sound like a cliche like, “I’m doing it for me!” One I’ve used is “I can’t take another day…” Well, there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s a quirk with me to try to find different words to say the same thing. I still say a catchy melody with words that capture the feeling of it is the real base of a great song, and that’s what you know how to do.

Positive Comments: This lady knows how to resurrect an old folk song and tell a story with depth of feeling and character. This is enhanced by a careful, authentic Celtic-sounding production and instrumentation. I found myself captivated and I hope many will listen to this artist and appreciate her talent and presentation of history in song.

Constructive Comments: Lovely introduction (but very long). I wondered if it was going to be just an instrumental. I was pleasantly surprised by the vocal. This is one of your best, Delta!

Positive Comments: In this sweet, smooth number, this jazz artist compares life to the wind – nice metaphor. I really like the part about taking off your sunglasses and letting your eyes breathe. Very creative word picture there. Easy-going and fun. Great lead guitar work. Interesting sound effects. Flawless vocal. Nice mix and production. Fantastic job. LOVE the ending!

Constructive Comments: I have no idea if there is much of a market for this kind of song. I am not a jazz fan. But I liked it!
