Song: How’s The Weather Today/The Corey’s SAX
Reviewer: Kate Carpenter
Positive Comments: We are so afraid to bring up “meaningful” topics today, because our society is terribly polarized. So we avoid the controversial subjects and just “talk about the weather”. What a fantastic, appropriate reason to write a song. This one packs a vital message couched in clever rhymes. Loved: dance/stance Politics/nixed. neighbors/strangers. Even though it’s a soft rhyme, it totally works. Keep the good songs coming!
Constructive Comments: Great job, Coreys, though I have heard this one before, it sounded even better second time around. I haven’t voted yet, but plan to and hope it’s not to crowded on Tuesday. Whatever happens, please God, let there be PEACE! The riots and protests have been awful. So much destroyed when we could be building our communities with love and understanding. God help us!

Song: Fidget Widget

Positive Comments: Great instrumental! Love the flow of this fast-moving, easy-listening song. If I had to be “on hold” on the phone, this would be a great improvement on all the “music” I’m “forced” to listen to. Love the bass – very cool sounding. Keys player does a great job. Drums are awesome! This song is all over the place sonically and very pleasing to the ears. Nice fade out at the end.
Constructive Comments: Keep the good stuff coming!

Song: WHOMPT OUT BILLY BOYS (featuring Sammi Moore)
Reviewer: Kate Carpenter
Positive Comments: This is southern country music at its very best. Chock-full of creative rhymes and vivid word pictures, this artist belts out with rapid precision all she loves about southern guys. Love the bridge “tattoed hunk with a blue ribbon mullet”, the muddy 4 wheelers and all. It’s as real as it gets. Having just moved from the south, this song made me miss Florida. I don’t see any reason why this song shouldn’t be a hit. Great writing, great performance. Five stars all around!
Constructive Comments: Keep the good stuff coming and have you some fun mud boggin’.

Song: In Every Way

Positive Comments: What really struck me about this song was the passion with which it was written and performed. I hear a lot of love songs on Broadjam, but this would probably rate in the top 10 in sincerity. That’s what really came across to me. Favorite lyric: heart is like a whistle. Very creative. There are some killer guitar solo/licks in there that are played with equal passion. The harmonies on the bridge were beautiful.
Constructive Comments: In my opinion, a .37 long intro is just too long. Please post the lyrics. Some of them were hard for me to follow. Being able to click on and read them would be a help. The one thing I think that this song could be improved upon is “unity” or “cohesiveness”. I got that it was a love song, but the “story” didn’t really come across to me. Perhaps if I was better able to understand all the lyrics. Anyway, just trying to be honest. Keep up the good work!

Positive Comments: This is really nice! Really reminds me of somebody but I can’t place it. Great arrangement. Really like the vocal, a little like Death Cab. Maybe that’s it. A little Michael Penn also. This is a very nice song.
Constructive Comments: Not many suggestions. Perhaps one could end the song on an instrumental that takes some flight and fades out, as the ending is slightly predictable in-genre. But that is really a nit.
