Song: Feel For Whitney

Positive Comments: Outstanding mix on the instruments! The chord progression is somewhat standard but plays well here, with a gorgeous balance and a tight rhythm section. Very enjoyable listen.

Constructive Comments: I would greatly prefer hearing real horns as opposed to keyboard horns for the melody. Technically the notes are right, but there’s a human element missing and a warmth a real horn would insert to the groove.

Constructive Comments: This could really use a metronome as it falls in and out of time, but a solid listen.

Positive Comments: Solid tune all around. Decent recording and mix. The guitar playing definitely stands out. I could hear some Eric Johnson influence in the playing and tone which is something I don’t hear that often or at least not done as well as in this track. Good work. Keep it up!

Constructive Comments: Nada to add here. Thanks for the listen!!!

Positive Comments: Here’s some really great lyric writing, coupled with a melody that perfectly suits the message and mood of the song. I felt like it transported me right to New Orleans. I could picture her house, the ice cream truck, corn bread drippings. Great word pictures. Love the walk up to the chorus and fiddle licks. Fantastic storytelling. Great delivery. Fun images. Unforgettable.

Constructive Comments: Hard to improve on this one, Coreys. I admire your imagination. Was she real or made up?

Positive Comments: This is a song of questions it’s a plea for the guy to notice the girl and begin a relationship. The vocal is convincing and passionate. Favorite rhyme: found/touch the ground. Also I found this lyric quite original and effective:Why don’t you takeA walk on the wild side? Why don’t you takeA look at my eyes? The instrumentation is fun, funky and interesting. I loved the way the intro started out simple and built.

Constructive Comments: Lots of repetition in this song. Maybe that’s common in this genre. I apologize I don’t know a lot about Electronic house. Ending is way to abrupt. Rhyme that I found trite: do/too in verse 1. You could easily shift things around to use the word move instead of too. It might work. “Too” is sometimes used “too” much. Intro lasted about 40 seconds. Might affect marketability.

Positive Comments: Here’s a song of appeal: Would you be my girl? Could I be your man? Then it switches to a father/child. So this could possibly be a “proposal song” to a woman and her child…for them to become a family? Instrumentation/chord progression is easy-going and pleasant. Vocal is nicely performed. Nice production lovely female background vocals. I really like the verse about “Would you be my child?”

Constructive Comments: The female background vocal says the same thing “be a better man”. To me that’s a little problematic. Personally, I thought the jump from the woman to the child to be a bit strange, but I followed it. Is that what you really meant in the song? I am curious.

Song: Run For Your Love

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Here’s a song about running for your love. The metaphor is kept to pretty consistently throughout the song, even when the runner falls. Favorite rhyme: tell, fell, spell. There is also a secondary metaphor of a dog (hound), hot on your heels. Good imagery. Nice instrumentation, fun lead guitar part.

Constructive Comments: 5:08 is pretty long. There is a lot of repetition in this song. For marketability purposes (if that’s important to you), you might want to shorten it. In my opinion, .33 is way too long for an introduction. I can tell you had fun singing this song. Sounded like a bit too much reverb/effect on the lead vocal.
