Positive Comments: the general idea and premise of this song is excellent. I think the recording is very good, and arrangement as well. I think what is holding this song back is the production of the song, and the way its mixed. Its really stripped down, which is great, but each part i feel needs to be delivered more authentically. A song can be stripped down, yet not be dull or boring. This song gets a bit dull. The vocal needs to be more upfront and project the feeling of the song more.

Constructive Comments: This was a tough review, because i feel this song has huge potential, yet somehow the delivery is just not there. Don’t get me wrong, the musicians are all very good, and the singer is doing a good job. I am super familiar with new country and have listened and studied for many years, so my bar is just really high in the genre. I expect alot,so.. All things considered this was a great effort.

Positive Comments: I’m hearing a ton of INXS influence in this, which is a good thing as a retro sound. Very well-played and I think the instrumental version of this song would have outstanding market potential, even more than the vocal version. Re-classifying this is 90s or 2000s General Rock would get more of the right ears on this, as it doesn’t actually sound like what’s on the radio now (“Modern” Rock). But a fun listen for sure!

Constructive Comments: Using the cross-stick technique on the snare during the vocal sections didn’t work as well for me, especially since I loved the drums the rest of the way. I almost would rather hear NO snare than the rim clicks, but that’s totally subjective (I was a drummer for 20+ years). Overall a very cool vibe, particularly on the instrumental side.
