Song: Reflections

Reviewer: Nigel Barrett

Positive Comments: Inventive – someone who thinks outside the box always grabs my attention. This could also work as a slow RnB groove. Really like interesting percussion which this has in spades.

Constructive Comments: Low score from me for arrangement as I wanted a change-up a bit sooner but only being picky. The run down in chords could have been more surprising – obvious chord progressions don’t do it for me – wanted something out of left field.

Song: lemme get a little sumthin

Reviewer: Nigel Barrett

Positive Comments: Really love the different electro funk bass – something different. The stabs are great too. Janet Jackson meets Incognito in places.

Constructive Comments: By 53 seconds in when the trumpet patch is used I wanted to be exported to another dimension – it picked up more after a while – but I’d bring in that uptempo part where the solo trumpet first comes in at 53 s.

Positive Comments: A bit En Vogue a bit Brownstone. As a keyboard player I miss some rich synths in this but I appreciate that most RnB these days is sparse.

Constructive Comments: I’d consider starting the tune with an acapella chorus – really grab the listener immediately.

Song: Dancing Naughty When We’re Ninety-Nine Peterson Corey NEW MIX

Reviewer: Nigel Barrett

Positive Comments: Knocks spots off pretty much everything on here Art/Marjie! Those lush vocal harmonies are so lush and rich – I’m not jealous at all! A bit of Roger Troutman inspired vocals in the mix too! Great breakdown middle eight. The bass is reminiscent of some Howard Jones stuff from the 80’s.

Constructive Comments: None to add it’s great!
