Positive Comments: Someone needs to pick this song up. The vocal was excellent. The intro guitar work was very impressive. The rest of the instruments fit nicely into the song, and I liked the arrangement very much…especially the undercurrent of banjo which can have a tendency to get lost. The production and use of reverb and panning really showed me that someone really cared about putting together a great recording…no pitchy harmonies…it all fit together nicely. Great job!

Constructive Comments: There is nothing wrong with this song…the contrary is the reality here. Now, I am a keyboard player with 45 years of experience. So, naturally, the only thing wrong is that I’m not playing piano and B3 on the recording….lololol. I do have only one comment, and this is just one of those taste things. The vocal was so good, I found myself wishing it was louder. I listened with Audio Technica over the ear phones. I also thought the snare seemed a little too hot, but you know the deal with opinions. So that you know, I listened five times in a row to be fair> Excellent tune, Bravo…

Positive Comments: I am a big fan of funk, and this tune dials it in cleverly. The rap part was nicely stitched to the rhythm. The recording was excellent as well. The chords and arrangement were unexpectedly better than a lot of the run of the mill crap you hear these days. So nice to hear a different take and actual MUSIC as part of a rap tune. Nice job! I can see a provider picking this one up.

Constructive Comments: I listened to this song at least five times. This is just an opinion…everyone has one. I’d change the very beginning of the song unless there was a reason for doing it to fit a video. It’s the least musical part of the song and the rest of it is so nice and tight. If you don’t mind a suggestion, just a simple little funk drum fill leading in to the first bass note might be more powerful. I know I’m repeating myself, but I really liked this one. I am primarily a keyboard player, but I’ve managed to become a multi instrumentalist over the years…my respects…BSTILL…great stuff!

Reviewer: John Walradt

Positive Comments: Surf style rock and roll turns hard rock and T Rex meets Richard Marx! Excellent songwriting: hooky melody, gritty guitar, classic pop lyrics. Great reverb in the voice. This one should be on the airwaves. I like the repeated anxious “reaching” in the middle as the song reaches the crest of the waves. The song is energetic and driving. Release it in the summer when it’s hot!

Constructive Comments: Sitting on the beach with a radio and a beer would go good with this.

Positive Comments: Nice blend of a blues foundation with a sweet 70s funk wah-wah guitar, tasteful rhythm section and fills, good backing vocals and catchy lyrics. Fun!

Constructive Comments: The genuine, honest groove supercedes any criticism I would have of the recording production — as it should. Keep on keeping on!

Positive Comments: A really cool song with unexpected changes/modulations… runs from minor key verses to major key country with a nice bridge, all rooted in steady rock.

Constructive Comments: Like some of the FX choices but they sometimes seem to be competing rather than working together to create a singular “space” for the song to live in.

Reviewer: Simpson-Mancine Band

Positive Comments: This is a very nicely written cinematic style piece that aligns very nicely with current music for TV opening credit sequences. I could totally hear this (recut with an orchestra) leading into an episode of a political drama like House of Cards, or even a fantasy drama like Game of Thrones.

Constructive Comments: Not much to offer as far as criticism of the song… MAYBE a dissonant kind of build into an ending would make it more inline with current styles, but that is totally subjective. This is a nice piece of work. I hope yo hear it someday with a big french horn section 🙂

Song: Cayman Island Shuffle (Rock-Production Rock)

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Very tight little groove with a distant-sounding echo guitar. Not exactly sure why it’s listed as Prog Rock, as it’s equal parts Jazz and R&B, but it’s a good solid listen. I liked the drums in particular, as the interplay with the bass is right on point.

Constructive Comments: Sounds like just a piece of a song to me, as the ending just kind of fizzled out. If there’s a longer version I’d upload that, so the listener can enjoy the groove fully.

Reviewer: ShaQ:Muzik

Positive Comments: Gond song, melodic and lyrical content. Just needs a bit more “sheen” to stand out with what’s out there right now. A few more deliberate musical and instrumentation choices would take it to the next level as would a bit more gloss on the vocals, mix and overall finished product. Very good effort, though.

Constructive Comments: Unfortunately songs are judged by what’s on the “market” at the moment and this slightly fals short. Almost there though… Try and sculpt your sound, vocals and mix to compete with that so called “professional sheen” and you would be well on your way. Good job!

Song: Question Of Love (Pop, Adult Contemporary)

Reviewer: Simpson-Mancine Band

Positive Comments: This is really nice, guitar picking and stereo panning is nice. Well done vocals, and nice repeating melody that forms a hook. I also like the “open” ending chord…perfect

Constructive Comments: There is a delay effect on the vocals that may work if it sounded more intentional, but as mixed it muddies up the “air” around the vocal track.
