Positive Comments: I’m all over the place on this song, but I guess the main thing is, I did smile a lot so that’s a good thing? I was having fun listening. Well played, decent vocal, some good old time rock n roll licks. It’s fun, I got to give it that much credit!

Constructive Comments: If my rating is a little low, I guess it’s because I kept wondering, “is this a kind of joke song?” because at times it comes across as kind of silly, almost like a Spinal Tap song. Maybe it’s just the artist’s sense of humor, if not, then yeah, it’s kind of a bit silly for my taste. But I can see other people not reacting that way at all, so. Could be big fans out there!

Positive Comments: Strong hard rock track. Vocal arrangement is interesting, not just the lead wailing away mixed up front all the way through. Good pipes on singer too. Strong solo too, not just showing off but introducing some new twists on the musical material. Solid, solid hard rock song with a couple progressive elements.

Constructive Comments: Nothing specific to pick on, just a feeling that there’s nothing really original or unexpected here for a hard rock song – thudding bass line, screaming lead guitar, kind of pompous lyric (“a thousand suns can’t show me” or something like that). Lot of talent on display in this recording, I’d just say that to stand out from the crowd, there needs to be a couple unexpected touches.

Positive Comments: oh yeah. Charging out of the gate. very cool sounds. Kind of knew pretty fast this was instrumental. As such it doesn’t need a big hook, it just needs to have structure and then play that geetar. Like the drums so much, but the main attraction is that guitar, and it’s smokin’. Well recorded too. Tasty stuff, ended before it might have started to drag.

Constructive Comments: For what this is, a hard charging rock instrumental, I have no quibbles. Would like to hear if artist or band also does songs, and if the songs have strong hooks etc. Can’t necessarily say based on this track that hooks or strong melodies are part of what these musicians offer, but maybe!

Positive Comments: I like it when a melody moves and develops in interesting ways. This one does, with some conventional passages followed by an unusual chord, rhythm change up. Very nice. What a fine voice the singer has too. The song doesn’t have a lot of range, or require high notes that I noticed, but this singer is blessed with a very nice set of pipes. Bit of Carole King feel in the piano support.

Constructive Comments: The melody is pleasant enough, but for me the chorus doesn’t ‘pop’. I like how it ends on an interesting chord choice, but that also leaves a feeling of “that’s it?” when it just returns to the main verse. The lyric idea or theme is fine, but I did find a couple phrases kind of awkward. That’s a very subjective thing though.
