Song: Tonight’s The Night
Reviewer: David James
Positive Comments: The song has great swagger. An excellent arrangement, which leaves space for all the instruments. The recording is amazingly tight. I love the guitar tone. Excellent lead vocal and the harmonies are just in the right places. Good use of stereo separation. The quality of the recording is exceptioanal. A very catchy song.
Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the lyrics because they don’t offer anything that hasn’t been heard before, but that’s really irrelevant as the song overall is excellent.

Song: Grace Along

Positive Comments: I love the tone of the guitar. The piece has a lovely bright feel. The melody is hypnotic and engaging. Beautifully recorded. Superb sound quality. I like the fact that the instrumentation has been kept minimalistic. An excellent tune for a soundtrack-it would work well for an documentary.
Constructive Comments: In my comments above I said I loved the tone of the guitar. I assumed it was a guitar, but it has a fretless quality so I wondered whether it was a fretless guitar? And if it is a guitar, how is it tuned? I’m curious. Anyway it’s a really strong piece of work.

Song: Hush-A-By Darling
Reviewer: Ian Graham
Positive Comments: Occasional shifts into minor chords bring out the modal beauty of the air, which is warmly and faultlessly lilted by the singer. This Scots lullaby has some martial undertones. The arrangement reflects that, moving from symphonic to intimate and back again. Together with the well-judged vocal, it makes for a moving performance, well worth the listen.
Constructive Comments: Personally, I would welcome a little less reverb – but maybe that’s just me. All in all, it’s superb.

Song: 41. Morning Cup (vocals)
Reviewer: Dave Haddad (CenterPeace)
Positive Comments: Nice tight sound from the beginning, good thought process to have the melodic theme intro. Love the ‘band sound’. Sexy, controlled and confident vocals. Very sweet vocal tone. Guitar solo (ala George Benson tone) was a nice surprise. Love the live band tracks, we don’t hear enough live recordings anymore… thank you!! Good recording and mix. Very mellow groove.
Constructive Comments: Some obvious ‘auto-tune’ glitches on the vocal track (:27). The lyrics were a little cheesy to me (you’re my morning cup…). Nice production over all, loved hearing the live tracks! The lyrics were the down side of the song for me. The arrangement for me was also a little too ‘produced’ or slick, nobody taking any chances, nothing new or exciting happening.

Song: Swing the Favor
Reviewer: Dave Haddad (CenterPeace)
Positive Comments: Nice full arrangement, love the big band swing. Easy tempo very smooth. band intonation is excellent. Great performances all around. Has a great WWII dance band era feel to it. Would fit in exceptionally well in an period piece movie. The drummer has beautiful brush work… Good blend with the band (melodic).
Constructive Comments: The mix is out of balance, almost feels like the drums were recorded in a different room then the band… different time too. Several audible edits on the drums. Drums are too loud, they buried everything… they should be blended in better and supplemental to the orchestration.

Positive Comments: Contemporary sounding R & B that’s nicely done. Strong vocals and instrumentation. Good job!
Constructive Comments: My only sniglet is I’m partial to music with live drummers over drum machines. That’s just a personal preference.
