Positive Comments: Commercial sounding cross between R & B and pop, the song has solid vocals. The arrangement doesn’t break any new ground, but it’s solid, as are the instrumental performances. Good job overall.

Constructive Comments: It feels like the eq and the level on the mix is slightly harsh and/or distorted, even when I lower the volume for listening. That may be worth checking out, but I know it’s subjective.

Positive Comments: i found that this song grew on me as i listened more, (which is a good thing!) The vocals suit the song great and the lyrics are very unique and non-cliche. The melody is solid and yet still unique (which is hard to do these days) Keep up the good work!!!

Constructive Comments: I would love to hear this track produced with a bigger budget as i’m sure it would take it to “another level” – Best wishes to you!

Positive Comments: This had a very Bob Seeger sound to it, and I enjoyed this song from start to finish. Nice instrumentation and very tight rhythm section. I’d almost consider this Country Rock or Country Cowboy as opposed to “Contemporary”, but regardless this is an excellent track! My new highest-rated Country song on Broadjam.

Constructive Comments: Would have been nice to hear a female voice mixed in the harmonies just to round them out, but excellent work.

Positive Comments: Very catchy hook and easy to remember. The rhythm section is tight and the harmonies were well-balanced. Instruments were well done. It was a nice listen even though I’m not typically into a retro-sound.

Constructive Comments: To me this sounds like a very old recording. Maybe that’s intentional maybe not, but I’d put this right alongside Andrew Gold, J.D. Souther and the like from a 1979-1983 time frame. I definitely enjoyed the song, just thought the actual recording sounds dated.

Song: King of the Hill

Reviewer: Randall Mark

Positive Comments: This is one of the most creative and original songs I have reviewed. I thought the lyrics were quite amusing and the vocal affect worked really well, sounding like a drunk guy in a bar. Toward the end I started feeling a loneliness emanating from the singer, which I did not expect. I figured it was a tongue in cheek type of song but I think it has overtones of deeper emotional hurt. I particularly liked the evolving instrumentation that kept the song interesting. There was a scratchy sort of instrument, more in the first half of the piece, which I could not figure out what it was. It added to the uniqueness and oddness of the song, so although not pleasing to the ear, it was great!

Constructive Comments: I marked it down on “market value of song” because I can’t imagine a movie scene or commercial that the song may fit. Not many anyway. I’m sure the songwriter was not going for that sort of thing in the song. I still am not totally clear if the song was meant to be funny or really a sad, kind of lonely song. Maybe that was by design, I am no sure. Keep up the songs! This one is truly memorable-that’s for sure. I like that. Too many songs just sound like all the rest.

Song: Are you So Sure

Reviewer: David James

Positive Comments: I really like the piano arrangement of the song. The vocal is excellent-she really sings the song with real passion. I like the drama of the song and the almost prog rock elements. The song is a masterclass in tension and release. It’s genuinely catchy with a very strong chorus. Simple but effective lyrics. Beautiful outro. The song reminded me of something Pat Benatar might have sung.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the quality of recording because I would have liked a cleaner sound. It might be worth a remaster. Great song otherwise. I’m going to add it to my playlist.

Constructive Comments: I wouldn’t change a thing, like the simple arrangement, works very well. Nicely done!

Positive Comments: The guitars were recorded clearly and I enjoyed the feel of the song. It was a nice easy listen with a good bounce.

Constructive Comments: This would greatly benefit from natural and/or improved drumming. The rhythm sounded like a hi-hat but the snare and cymbals sounded fake to my ear.
