Positive Comments: Wow! This caught my ear immediately and held my attention throughout. It packs a great punch within its compact dimensions. The tonic pedal adds a tension and insistence. The vocals are superb, and are beautifully recorded. The lyrics are thoughtful, intelligent and meaningful. It has real emotional presence, and the quality of the music underpins the meaning of the lyrics precisely. Its short length is in some ways quite enigmatic, but adds a mystery which is quite enchanting.

Constructive Comments: I think the recording is nicely balanced, and the overall sound is warm and clear, with judicious use of ambience. I have put N/A for the quality of the hook, not because there is anything missing here, but because not all music has a hook, and this through composed song is perfectly rounded without any excessive repetition. I really enjoyed this, and respect the musicianship and lyrical insight which clearly went into its production. Thanks, Rob.

Positive Comments: Really nice backdrop and very easy to listen to. The instruments really come across as a nice mix, very complimentary. The vocal is strong and well-balanced against the backing track. Background harmonies are also nice.

Constructive Comments: I would have given this a MUCH higher rating except for the distraction of way too much “effect” on the lead vocal. Couldn’t tell if it was reverb, fast echo or what exactly it was but it took my concentration completely away from the lyrics, especially through the first 30+ seconds. It’s so noticeable I thought it was a cymbal at first, but that didn’t make sense. Vocal is right on pitch and there’s no need to cover it in my opinion. I’d re-mix this with a much drier mic sound and you’d really have s great tune.

Positive Comments: I could hear this sung by Dolly Parton. The vocalist has a similar vibrato and style. Excellent instrumentation and mix, and the quality of the songwriting is 1st-rate. I can see commercial potential for sure. REALLY enjoyable!

Constructive Comments: My only qualm with the song is at 4:47 it needs some type of short instrumental break or turnaround after the 2nd verse. When it continued on down the same road for another verse I felt like I was missing a needed accent or change. But I still thought it was excellent.

Positive Comments: The song has a very catchy rhythm and the electric/pedal guitar has very nice tone.

Constructive Comments: This really needs to be taken out of Contemporary Country (songs you’d currently hear on the radio) and placed in more Traditional Country. Even though the rhythm and chords were nice, the lyrics and inconsistent vocals lost me. Sorry!

Constructive Comments: From a production standpoint this song needs to get mastered. Volume is a bit too low and it needs more punch. That would make a big difference. Would’ve loved to hear a scorching guitar solo on the outro. That would work nicely but good work nevertheless!

Constructive Comments: If I had to add something here I’d say watch the vocals and make sure there’s zero pitch problems. Also as far as song structure it needs a real chorus where it brings the song home. Good stuff though and keep writing!

Positive Comments: Nice groove and vibe. Good guitar lead work and nice recording overall. Needs a bit more though in terms of structure. Good work though.

Constructive Comments: I would change the beat in certain parts to something different to avoid repetitiveness. I would also put the guitar 1 db louder or add some parallel compression to thicken it up since it’s the lead instrument.
