Positive Comments: Very smooth, classic sound and excellent guitar tones. Organ is nice as well and the drums are complimentary, although I’m missing bass guitar as a full rhythm section. This was just a laid-back, COOL listen all the way. Quite enjoyable!

Constructive Comments: I would have given this an even higher rating, but something totally weird happens at the 1:39 mark. The song loses its entire energy and it sounds like a drop-out like you used to get on old tapes. I listened to it 4 times, and if that was an intentional play I’d strongly urge you to re-mix it with consistency. It’s too good a song for that in my opinion.

Positive Comments: Love that the voice reminds me of Curtis Mayfield! Good stuff. Definitely brings a retro-seventies vibe to life!

Constructive Comments: The recording itself is top heavy in the eq department. There’s not much on the bottom to shake you up….which I think is helpful with a dance song. I’d revisit that and repost it if I were you.

Constructive Comments: I hate to criticize, but it’s a little generic, like it’s all been done before. There might be something you can do to make it stand out that seems missing to me.

Song: 40 hr Weekend (Country Version)

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Super-balanced blend and real instruments making real music. Hallelujah! Lead vocal smooth, harmonies were accurate, and the players played tastefully. It actually reminded me of a Jimmy Buffett song as much as a Country song, and the recording quality was strong throughout. Well-written and well-performed. So far in the Country category this is my highest-rated review (and yes, I’m super picky because BS reviews don’t help anyone other than their ego.

Constructive Comments: Slightly wordy even for a story-song, and if I were mixing I would have cut about 2-3 db off the lead vocal but that is really nit-picking, since I enjoyed the heck out of this tune.

Positive Comments: I found this to be quite melodic and the chord pattern held my attention. I would have liked to hear a single-note melody in addition to the rhythmic strumming, but overall while this sounds like an unfinished piece, there is definitely promise.

Constructive Comments: The sound quality threw me off on this one, as it really sounds home-made and the instruments could have been tighter at a couple of points. Still enjoyed the listen though!
