Positive Comments: fun song, well sung and great lyrics. love the horns in a country song, nice arrangement.

Constructive Comments: I do think the music is a little thin in fact I think I know who this is? if so, which I’ll find out when I submit, we’ve talked about this. The drums are kinda thin, and the bass too. Seems like the EQ of the whole song needs a little more low end or maybe some compression, not sure but it just sounds kinda thin. maybe its the low mids, 350 area, hard to tell without listening to the original

Positive Comments: beautiful man! felt like I was sitting in the room with you, that guitar recording quality was fantastic. Wish i could get mine that good. You must have some good mics. This would be an amazing track for any melancholy scene. Great emotion and dynamics. If this doesn’t land a spot we should all just pack it up and go hame!

Constructive Comments: nothing to add here, I wouldn’t change a thing. very inspiring. my kind of music!

Positive Comments: Here’s a musical trip to New Orleans, a free ticket to a fun song about skipping work and having a blast. It’s carefree, it’s fun, and clever. Word pictures in the song are vivid, realistic, original and humorous. Chorus is extremely catchy and singable. Instrumentation and vocal nicely done. I like the slight growl in the voice. Nice bass runs. If you need a musical excuse to have a day off, here it is!

Constructive Comments: I almost gave you a 4 on vocal pitch, but I decided you deserved all 5’s on this one. I hope you have great success with this song. You’re a great writer!

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Here’s a song about the statue of Liberty. She holds out her torch and bids the prodigal daughter to come home. The lyrics grab the listener and instill thoughtfulness about an icon of American culture and history. Great guitar work, clear delivery. How many songs have been written about Lady Liberty? I like it!

Constructive Comments: I think a single vocal will do. Not sure the doubling added much. On the last line: As the numbers recede. That kind of threw me. I thought the numbers were increasing of people wanting to enter the USA. Or do you reference the border wall and the issues concerning that? What about the prodigal sons?

Positive Comments: This boy can sing COUNTRY! This is a beautifully written song about soldiers serving our land. It is respectful about the job they are doing, but also asks the age-old question about the lives that are lost…Ain’t it a shame? The verses tell the story well. The chorus is memorable. Excellent instrumentation, flawless mix, great production.

Constructive Comments: If I could rewrite this song, this is what I would do. I would add a third verse. I would make the “lift” the chorus and use the chorus as a bridge. It is a great song, though and because you put your name on the lyrics, my hat’s off TO THE COREYS. You did it again! Mrs. Kate

Constructive Comments: Have you ever tried to get your music on Audiosparx? Might want to give it a try. They have been good for me (licensing). They like to get instrumental music. The key is learning how to enter the metadata for your song. I wish you every success. Vary the drums a bit?….

Positive Comments: It takes a real gift to take some “old cliches” and turn them into an original song. This songwriter has done it, and done it well. The strong points about this song are the clever lyric writing and memorable hook. I love the money metaphor and the nod to the Beatles “Money can’t buy me love”. This is just a really well written song and deserves to go far. The chorus lyrics are EXTREMELY clever!

Constructive Comments: As well-written as this song is, the presentation needs work. First of all, the way that the vocals are sung and miked (or effects) just didn’t work for me. This song is placed in the Country-folk genre, but it sounds more pop to me. (Though I am not the best genre-picker). If you want this song to go further, I would tone down the blazing vocals a bit and change things up. It’s a really good song! Also please post the lyrics. Although you were quite understandable, it always helps to have those up for the reviewer.

Positive Comments: A very nice vocal performance. A lot of feeling in the singing, reflecting the wistful lyrics. Some great slide guitar also, and background vocals were sweet. A nicely balanced mix too. The song structure was coherent and had nice harmonic balance, within the genre. There is real emotion in the song and it comes across in the performance. I think this has real commercial potential and I could imagine hearing it on the radio. It comes across as genuine and warm. I really enjoyed it.

Constructive Comments: Perhaps a buttoned ending rather than a fade out would have been nice.. especially as the end of the chorus reaches a good perfect cadence and could just stop?I think the snare could maybe sit a little lower in the mix, but that’s just how it sounds to me. Otherwise the mix is great, and everything supports the lead vocal very nicely.
