Positive Comments: I liked that overall mood of this song, always love to hear a harmon mute trumpet soloing. For the most part, I thought the production was decent. The drums (and possibly all of the instruments) sound like VSTs, but are good quality.

Constructive Comments: My first and foremost thought is that at 7 and a half minutes, this track is much too long…maybe half that length would be more appropriate. Also, I would have liked to hear another instrument solo, perhaps trading off with the trumpet. Muted trumpets are awesome, but it did wear a bit thin after that long.I liked most of the production, but would have preferred a bit less reverb on the trumpet. I felt the ‘verb was a bit over the top and made the instrument sound a bit washed out, particularly since the rest of the instruments were relatively dry.

Positive Comments: Hints of Elvis Costello. Some great key changes and hooks. Tasteful production. I love the pauses you’ve put in here and there. This is a tight band and the backing vocals are pretty tight. I love the piano that comes in at 2 mins. The mixing is pretty good considering how much is going on. Nice poppy feel to it. Would work in an Americana indie movie (do they still make those?)

Constructive Comments: I like this – perhaps more dobro / slide (?) than I’m used to, but the choruses are tight and the key changes are slick and it’s good and summery. Nice work, fella(s)! Best of luck with it! Hopefully someone will pick this up for a TV show or something.

Positive Comments: Instrumental that put me in mind of cinematic end sequences / titles, possibly for some kind of a detective programme. I love the harmonies that sometimes creep into the piano motif. It’s a good strong melody that is catchy & would work well on TV or film.

Constructive Comments: I’d love to hear this recorded on ‘real’ instruments. I’d love the sound of double bass, a gorgeous grand piano and some strings. Let’s just hope someone picks this up and decides to throw money at it as a theme!

Positive Comments: I like the voice – great accent and I enjoyed the lyric. Moments of prog – Cardiacs….I felt that the voice gets better as the track goes on and the singer seems to relax. Good stuff. Nice hook in the chorus. Enjoyable.

Constructive Comments: Production on the voice is a bit harsh and for my ears it gets caught up in the snare in terms of the way it’s been EQ’d. The mix is quite mid-top end -centric & in fact I’d like to hear a re-mix that brings out some more low frequencies and pulls back some of the top end…but I’m not an engineer & I’m not in this field / genre…I just feel like it is quite harsh production for listening on cans. But maybe that is what the artist is going for?

Positive Comments: This is fun. The voice has me thinking Randy Newman and I really like some of the lyrics. I did enjoy this – the standout line is ‘lately my angel’s been flying round in circles’ although some of the lyrics were lost to production. I like the instrumentation you’ve chosen and the players are good. Definitely good stuff!

Constructive Comments: This is a good song but I have to be honest – it’s sadly not well recorded. The mix isn’t creating any kind of a stereo picture of a band. I had an electric guitar in each ear, voices sometimes drowned out by instruments. It’s a shame because actually the song is a lot of fun! It could use some re-recording as well as some pruning. 3 minutes or 4 minutes could be a great track but unless you have loads more to say with those extra minutes, my feeling is edit them out.
