Positive Comments: This is great! I’m going to assume (since I can’t see what or who it is before review is sent) that this was recorded in the late 70’s or very early 80’s and came off a 7 or 15 IPS reel. If it wasn’t, top job on giving the illusion. Reminded me of a combo of Boomtown Rats early stuff and The Ramones. Loved it!

Constructive Comments: None – great

Positive Comments: Really nice piece. Sounds like a very late 80’s/very early 90’s drama into action theme that could have been used on a TV show or made for TV film. Also sounded like it could have been part of a musical stage show score in that era. Enjoyed this very much!

Positive Comments: I enjoyed listening to the lyrics of the song as well as the singers delivery. The bluesy guitar solo’s were well played but I don’t think I heard one single transition into a B or C section. It was A section for the whole 4 mins plus but it kinda worked for the type of song it is. Funny and seemingly honest!

Constructive Comments: I only hope that this song is about a actual person that did you wrong in some way and that that person actually got a chance to hear this song and realize that its about him. Seeing the look on his face would be priceless!

Positive Comments: Overall the bands performance on this track was solid. I could tell that they put some time into crafting the song. The rhythm section locked in nicely and the stops throughout the song were well placed. This band reminds me of something Newfound Glory would do with a healthy dose of some Blink 182….

Constructive Comments: The lyrics were hard for me to understand at times and I think the reason for that is because there were so many of them trying to fit in to the songs melody, but that could be bands songwriting style and the way the singer likes to sing. I would have to hear more of their songs to make a better assessment. The quality and clarity of the mix and recording all together is probably where I would like to see the biggest improvements. Why? because if you are out to get a labels attention and ultimately a deal and with all the competition every band or artist is up against you need to have a product that stands out and cuts through more. I hope you see my critique as coming more from a constructive angle rather then anything else.

Positive Comments: Love it! Sounds like a cross between 80’s Bryan Ferry (solo) and 80’s David Bowie in the vocal. Music wise it’s a cross between the 2 of them also, making an original unique sound.

Constructive Comments: Everything sounds good except the lead vocals at times are slightly uneven in level on the 2nd verse and chorus. They pop a bit too up front from the music. Need to just level the vocals out and it’s perfect.

Positive Comments: This is absolutely beautiful. I particularly like the chorus..so dreamy. I like the totally manic lead vocal and the way the semi-manic backing vocals complement it, and the way the synths and sax cut through the whole thing to produce a lovely piece of work. All the instrumentation is exactly right in the mix.

Constructive Comments: What a great song. It reminds me somewhat of British groups of the 80s such as Japan, or Simple Minds and this is as strong as their material. The question is how to get this out to a wider public, because it deserves a huge audience.

Song: What You Do

Reviewer: David James

Positive Comments: Firstly it’s a very catchy song. Melodically it’s very strong. The lead vocal and backing vocals are excellent. I like the chord progression and the guitar solo. The song has numerous changes of tempo and instrumentation which maintain the interest of the listener. The musicianship is really strong.

Constructive Comments: There are elements of the song that are somewhat retro in a good way. The vocal arrangement reminded me of Crosby Stills and Nash and the style of the song gave me visions of California in the 70s (not that I ever went to California in the 70s, you understand but that’s how I imagine it). But that retro quality might hold the song back in terms of current film/TV opportunities. Overall though a very strong song.

Song: Wonderfully Moody

Reviewer: Chet Nichols

Positive Comments: Fun song. Great all around. The instrumentation is very good. Nice mix. Solid arrangement. Vocal rings of Neil Diamond, as does the structure and concept of the song…and the vocal register. Conceptually, very interesting and the lyrics paint a nice picture….lots of unique phrases…which is good. I am kind of a stickler for lyrics painting a picture and bringing the senses.

Constructive Comments: Don’t know that I can say anything bad about the song…..because it really works. If I were to give you something to think about (purely pondering here)…… I change the drums in the chorus….and throw in more of a back beat because the drums in the verses are very driving. This might give the listener a chance to catch up because the song comes out of the gate and stays there. That said, when lyrics are so driving like in the verses, sometimes, to give them some space (maybe more drawn out words…ie. M-o-o-o-o-dy verses Moody)….you can cut the number of words down and let the listener catch-up…… Those are just some thoughts to ponder….. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.Best to you….
