Positive Comments: Really terrific epic trailer type stuff here! Nice changes kept it interesting throughout. Great arranging. Orchestra sounds pretty convincing. I think this will definitely find a home. I wish you much luck with it.

Constructive Comments: Not much really. I thought the synth pulse at the beginning sounded a little “cheesy” compared to rest of the instruments.

Positive Comments: Interesting combination of instruments and generally a pretty good recording. This certainly has a unique vibe and I could see it finding its way into a licensing opportunity.

Constructive Comments: The vinyl effect seemed a bit “tacked on”. I think you could have sold it better with some EQ on the other instruments. That low bass sound was interesting but some rhythmic changes would have helped it be less predictable. Not crazy about the violin sound. It seemed a bit harsh to me.

Positive Comments: This is a pretty nice love song. I think with the right recording this might a find a place in a made for TV movie. The hook is pretty good and the guitar playing is really nice.

Constructive Comments: This comes off to me like a demo. The vocal performance seems a little unsure and the instrumentation seems a little “out of the box”. I’m not sure when this was recorded but it sounds “old”. The quality of the instruments just doesn’t quite seem to be where it needs to be. You should revisit it with an updated set of sounds.

Reviewer: The Song Writers

Positive Comments: Sounds like an awesome Folk style R&B record -swinging and grooving – socially inviting to listen and sing along with and takes you by surprise and it’s over….great job on the arrangements and performance really nice…Keep it up !-)

Constructive Comments: Check your levels. Mix needs more work. You could use maybe some more effects, double up some vocal tracks and effects over all and that will take it over the top – all the same good job keep on making that music !-)….

Positive Comments: Sounds of youth and or the beginning of something good……

Constructive Comments: Could be used as a commercial or maybe in a soundtrack – you will need to market this song to be genre specific…. not quite the R&B we listen too but good job producing it as well….

Song: The Long Ride

Reviewer: Michael Cregan

Positive Comments: Nice start to the track, good presence. Vocal is floating nicely above the track. Clear and nice tone. (though, there are a few times it’s a bit too high in the mix) Good theme that’s well executed. Easy to get right into the lyrics and theme. Hook is reinforced a number of times.

Constructive Comments: Not really a ton to suggest. As noted above, in the chorus, the voice seems a bit high in the mix and too strong–which is odd to say since most review tracks have the opposite problem. I lowered the lyrics score a bit because I could easily remember the hook, but not much of the other lyrics.

Positive Comments: This is some very well played chunky ass rock and roll, nice guitar playing.

Constructive Comments: Very nice tone, well played. Only constructive suggestions would be to keep rhythm guitar playing through all solos, it sounds like it was not there during first pass. Also , it sounds like the drums are probably loops, they sound good, but are still a little static. Nice guitar playing .

Song: Great Lakes Summer Night

Reviewer: Michael Cregan

Positive Comments: Very nice high energy intro. Vocal continues the energy and keeps it moving. Very appealing sound and atmosphere. I Like the breaks at “winter’s coming soon enough….” Positive, happy summer tune that fits the summer feeling well.

Constructive Comments: I think “Great Lakes” is going to cut down on the marketability of the song. Localizes the appeal somewhat. I’m sure you use it for strong reasons, but another phrase like “hot lakes summer night” (ok, not a great idea, but only to illustrate the point) makes it something that would appeal all over, since most people live by a lake and love it in the summer. Otherwise, one of the best I’ve heard reviewing these last few weeks. There are also a few times the arrangement gets a bit dense. Might be good to have one section where it backs down for 5 or 10 seconds to give a breather and then back into it. Otherwise, it takes on a “same” quality to a degree. Can’t remember an example, but you’ve heard tunes with full instrumentation and then around 2/3rds goes down to just an acoustic for a few moments, and then back into it.
