Positive Comments: I love the way the lead guitar sounds and the special effects as well – very cool synthesizer parts – very cool, it reminds me a little of Christoper Cross.

Constructive Comments: I really like the song but it needs some help, first I would get rid of the first 40 seconds or so and get right into it. The special sound effect would sound much better if it sounded like a seagull flying across the ocean. I got the lyrics in my mind – best wishes!

Positive Comments: Definitely a Blues.

Constructive Comments: The playing is ok, but it doesn’t really justify 4 1/2 minutes of guitar solo without a single change in dynamic and pretty close to zero energy. Drummer barely broke a trot, there is pretty close to zero heat here except in parts of the solo, which while decent is not nearly enough.

Positive Comments: Like the hook which sneaks up on the listener…Dancing On A Memory….well done. Really nice country vocal and clean, clear instrumentation seems professionally done. Interesting that the writer of this song kinda made a lost love song upbeat in the presentation. Like the piano work in this song and, well, just a nicely done piece. I also like that the song did not go one and on…ended just in time!

Constructive Comments: No comments are needed. Nicely done!

Song: Hello Greyhound

Reviewer: Michael Cregan

Positive Comments: I like the backing track. Good playing by all players. Nice groove that moves along well and gets your attention. I also like the phrase “Greyhound heading southbound.” Good that you added a key change, right at the right time. Very good vocal character.

Constructive Comments: Some of the vocal is out of sync with the backing track. The lyrics are good, but I’d like to see more support for the main hook of Greyhound southbound. That’s pretty catchy, and to have more of the lyrics memorable like that would be very helpful.

Positive Comments: Love the bass (since I am a bass player). I can’t tell if it is a real bass player or keyboard. Samples are so good now. The bass is the focal point which is great!!! I can follow the arrangement pretty easily. It sounds very marketable to me. Also, the opening chords are remind me of John Lennon – Real Love.

Constructive Comments: Not much to critique on. The mix sounded good. Arrangement is good. Stereo spread was excellent. I listened to the tune twice on my studio monitors. Maybe a dropout where the drums get down sampled sounding, just to break things up then regroup and end it strong. You sort of do that to the drums at the very end.

Positive Comments: The vocalist is GREAT – compelling tone and very appropriate for country music in 2017. The B section has an AWESOME chordal shift. “Monday is Calling” is a super cool hook for this song. The lyrics are very conversational and the harmonies are dead-on and beautiful. Guitars are also really well-played without taking over the track.

Constructive Comments: As much as I like the hook of this song, and think that the song works from a perspective of craft and emotion, I think that the marketability is tough because after the initial verse the performance and production sound more like California Country-tinged rock (ala the Eagles or Little River Band). I am not saying it sounds dated, just incongruous with the modern country flair that was established by the great vocal in the first verse.Great job on this!

Song: Riding Free

Reviewer: The Bitter Elegance

Positive Comments: I really like the traditional country feel, with the contemporary mix. The guitarist has some crazy cool licks. It is very fresh to her a song structure that is more AABA than the usual verse/chorus/verse/chorus that seems to be the only thing on current country radio these days. The band is super tight (if this is a studio creation, nice job on it feeling like a real band).

Constructive Comments: While I really enjoy the song structure and feel of this track, I felt that there never was a giant hook to take me over the edge. Nothing on here is weak, but as strong as the performance and vocalist are, I really thought that there could have been a giant lyrical and melodic lift (maybe on the tag) to stick in my head and be the alpha hook of the day.All in all, VERY nice work!
