Positive Comments: Really nice! Such a longing, sad song. Love the intro and the build to when the vocalist comes in. The vocalist is great too — pure, sweet, but powerful.I am a sucker for sax, and the solo at 3:15 is wonderful. Really nice orchestration.The lyrics are simple but very effective. Great work!

Constructive Comments: My only comment is that silent rest right before the chorus — it just sounds a little out of place, especially since the rest of the song has such a smooth flow to it

Positive Comments: Nice song! I am a big fan of the lyrics — “Sunshine through the Rain” is really really great. The imagery, the rhyming, the simplicity of it. Great!The vibe of the vocals is cool too — it fits well with the staccato of the keys, and has this slightly ethereal/airy vibe.The *melody* of this song also made me think of “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders. Maybe that’s just me! 🙂

Constructive Comments: Personally, I would like the piano to be brought down a bit in the mix, so I could hear the vocals a little more in front.

Positive Comments: Nice song! Great melody and hook, and I enjoyed the keyboard work. I really loved when everything kicked in at 1:31 too — that just elevated the song to a whole new place. I also like how the lead vocal and the backing vocals weave into each other in the chorus. I am tempted to want to call the song “Stronger” because of the backing vocals!

Constructive Comments: There is imagery of a storm/ship/waves that I feel should connect into the chorus in some way, not just the verses.Also 1:31 is (my opinion only) a little long to wait for the chorus. It’s a great chorus!

Positive Comments: I love the meaning of the song — very uplifting! Especially during these times. It’s a short song, but I think you arranged it perfectly so that it does not feel like anything is “missing.”The vocals were well suited too — sweet, and just a *little* sassy 🙂

Constructive Comments: I think it’s a nice song! It does remind me of other songs in this genre though (similar chord structure, vocal styling… in that musical theatre cabaret vein)

Positive Comments: I am actually listening to this at midnight now, so the song is very appropriate :)The arrangement is great, and I think it is a real comforting song, almost like the person is trying to find the positive in being away from his love ones. I like the soothing vocals, and love the guitar layering/rhythmic play.

Constructive Comments: It’s a great song! If anything, I wanted to hear more about the actual relationship between the couple. I also totally understand why you are calling this Pop – Easy Listening, but I can definitely hear a Country influence (which I like!)

Positive Comments: This is a bit like Lou Reed meet’s Ian Drury and the Blockhead, there is a good song in there, somewhere.

Constructive Comments: The lyrics seem pretty cool to the degree that I can understand them, and given the garbled vocals and unusual pronunciation. A lot of interesting ideas in a very rough form, some of the backing guitar lines are quite good, but the tone sounds really fizzy. About 2/3 way through I finally realized it was ” classy Clare “.
