Song: Help Me Get My Ships Back to the Water (Live@Ft. Lauderdale)

Reviewer: HarryBudini

Positive Comments: It’s a nice chord progression, between The Dark End Of The Street and A White Shade Of Pale plus No Woman No Cry, sung in a Bob Dylanesque way. Stairway to Heaven too. I think I’ve mentioned enough references. Overall, it’s got a classic sixties/seventies feel.

Constructive Comments: The singing is out of key. Not that I care much about it. The guitar seems slightly out too, at times. Or maybe it’s just the slide giving me that impression. Whatever.

Positive Comments: It’s a little hard for me to comment on an instrumental song, but this was great! Upbeat, driving, good transition between sections — the perc is great and the melody is really smooth.I especially like the transition at 2:25 — really breathed a new vibe into the song.I am totally guessing on the title 🙂

Constructive Comments: I liked the use of the brief “chorus” vocals — I feel like you can use them more in the song, maybe stretch them out! There’s also about 5 seconds of silence at the end of the song you may want to cut out.

Positive Comments: This is a great song! Totally made me think of Muse or maybe Adam Lambert when I heard it … the lyrics are tight too and work really well. The orchestration and harmonies are *awesome* as is the vocalist. The key change at the end, the builds throughout — it’s definitely ready for TV/radio!

Constructive Comments: Nothing really constructive to say — really awesome song!

Positive Comments: This is a fun song! Sounds very much like a runway song, and I can definitely hear it being used in montage scenes for television shows (like RuPaul’s Drag Race, ANTM, etc). When the alphabet section started I smiled 🙂 … and I liked how it changed the second time around. Songs like this can get a little boring and you definitely kept it interesting throughout!

Constructive Comments: Maybe add some vocal harmonies in the background to spice things up a bit, esp after the 4-min mark!

Positive Comments: This is a really sweet song — love the lyrics and the sentiment, and the idea to use “twenty-years ago” is really unique (especially “twenty years ago can seem like yesterday”). I also love the build of the story throughout the song! The orchestration is tight, and the harmonies are nice too.

Constructive Comments: I feel like repeating “twenty years ago” at the end of the song isn’t really necessary … it was used so thoughtfully throughout the song!

Positive Comments: This is a fantastic song! From the orchestration, to the melody, to the vocalist, to the harmonies … I feel this is already set for radio play. It is really feel-good and catchy. This has a fun blend of so many genres too, which is great — I hear a bit of pop, country, 60’s bubble gum rock. It has *such* versatility.

Constructive Comments: nothing really constructive to say here. Such a great song!

Positive Comments: Really great song! The orchestration is *fantastic* and the vocalist is really good. When that chorus comes in – magic! The chorus is so catchy and the harmonies are wonderful too.The lyrics are simple but effective — they tell a great, sad story. Love how the chorus starts with “See you on every corner” and ends with “It’s over” … it sounds like it was written by a singer.

Constructive Comments: They are saying I must have 10 characters in this section but there is nothing really constructive I can say, hah! I really dig this song 🙂

Positive Comments: Awesome song. I had never heard the term “Heartbitten” before, so that’s a huge plus — so original! There are a bunch of lyrics here I’ve just never heard written in that way before, plus they tell a great story. Impressive! The orchestration is fantastic, as is the vocalist. Just makes me want to dance 🙂

Constructive Comments: I had to listen to it twice just to make sure I picked up all the lyrics — it’s a fast song so I guess that makes sense!

Positive Comments: This is a great song. So touching, I could definitely see it being used as a “first dance” song at weddings.I’m a huge fan of the lyrics as well — really nice rhyming, plus it sounds like it was written by a singer. The vocals are great too — very honest, like a man singing to his true love. And I like how you ended a few of the phrases w/ the minor.

Constructive Comments: I feel the solo at 2:28 breaks from the sweet sentiment of the rest of the song, but then it jumps right back into place
