Song: Watch Your Back

Positive Comments: Extremely interesting sample that I like a LOT. I love the opening of the piece, and the middle section. The quality of the vocal is also very good. Its a very honest sound, a very old school rock and roll/dylan inspired vocal (to me) that totally works. The song and sound is incredibly unique to me – blending modern with old school. I always respect that creativity. The keys and vocals were a surprise, as I had no idea where the song was going. Keep this sort of dichotomy up for sure.
Constructive Comments: The keys sound a bit too “synth” and fake to me. That’s a pet peeve for me – sorry – but cheapens the overall sound for me. While I really appreciate the creativity here – I think things could be simplified to make the song more effective. For instance, keep the sample, get rid of the muted, distorted electric guitar, and get a very live sounding piano. Remove the drum kit – that stripped down combo of the sampled beats with the soul piano and your vocal would be something unique that few people have the vision to put together. Keep up the good work.
