Positive Comments: You have a hauntingly beautiful Voice. I love the sound in your voice. Very Pretty song.

Constructive Comments: I am saying these comments because I want to give you constructive feedback to help the song be better.I do think there needs to be some variation in the back ground melody, it sounds the same the entire song and takes away from the melody.Maybe another guitar or drum beat would help. I think you needed some explanation in the lyrics f why you felt that way. The chorus was very pretty and well song, but the lyrics did not give me enough of the story to feel connected to it. I mean no disresptjust trying to give tips to make it even stronger. have a great day!

Positive Comments: I loved the old school feel of this song. The hook is very memorable and sticks with you. The bluesy tone in your voice is very cool, and it sounded really good.In the right setting this could be very marketable, but the style is not a current country style.Good Job with it! I thought you had a very fun idea here!

Constructive Comments: I gave you a three not because it was not a great song, but it is a demo and not quite finished. If you get a demo it will complete the song and make it an awesome song. I would invest in production on this one. You might consider producing it as an old rock song, it does not fit country today, but maybe a bluesy country would work well with your voice. At the end I would use some higher riffs in the chorus, make it a little different than the other chorus to give it that nice ending. I liked the guitar melody you used but adding the drums and electric guitar would make it get higher marks on instrumentation. It is a cool song, good luck!

Living In Our Big House NEW SAX Part by Margie & Art Corey, S. & A. Corey

Song: Living In Our Big House NEW SAX Part

Reviewer: Dave Haddad (CenterPeace)

Positive Comments: An alternative approach to what could have been just another simple time. Creative backing tracks leads me to think that the composer wanted to change things up from the norm. Song takes a bit of a sinister twist in the bridge turning slightly dark and haunting. Interesting blend of styles. Lots of really nice things happening in this track. If you listen closely the background and little transition sections have a lot of thought put into them. Parts placed very well in the mix and with great attention to effects and presentation. A brilliant production in that sense.

Constructive Comments: I am reviewing in “jazz’, this song might be better listed in R&B, New Age or Hip Hop. I don’t know but this doesn’t strike me as jazz (a very broad term I understand). The rhythm tracks seem to fit the style you are going for however, the repetition on the hi hat was a little distracting for me. I dig what you are doing though and it did fit with the song…. and what makes it R&B to me. There was a bad edit at :25, section coming in slightly late (on a copy I suppose). Maybe categorize in “Unique Soundtracks”??

The Island by Nigel Barrett

Song: The Island

Reviewer: Dave Haddad (CenterPeace)

Positive Comments: nice “B Section” at :50. I like the part island part R&B feel. Very nice melodies happen throughout along with creative and unique ideas. I love the originality of this song, too many times here I hear songs that you can tell are derivatives or complete rip-offs of popular songs. Not here, this song has a special flavor all its own. Even more pleasing upon a second listen.

Constructive Comments: For me, there is too much effects on the sax…. leads me to think you are trying to hide or cover up a bad sound. The song has a very ‘programmed’ sound to it, with drums, bass and all instruments playing on samplers or keyboards. I miss the infusion and life of live instruments.

Positive Comments: Nice recording, instruments are placed well. Nice guitar sound. Creative chords and a familiar sound. I like the added shaker part after the bridge. Nice guitar riffing in the intro. Nice performance all around.

Constructive Comments: Reminds me of an old jazz song, not sure the name, maybe Wes Montgomery, Lee Ritenour. The bridge felt a little cheezy and when the bass player played those 1/8th notes from 2:51 to :53 that didn’t help. For a drum machine recording the song has good life. Bass player sounded like he had a little too much fun for me. There were some creative parts but a few sections came across as immature playing, over exaggerated playing. In my opinion, a bass should be noticed by how he/she did not draw attention to the bass. Get your recognition grooving not by playing too many inappropriate fills. Nice song but a was a little too ‘in the box’ sounding and too mainstream (heard it before). Please more surprises. Thanks and good luck.
