Song: From Me to You

Positive Comments: Wow, what a voice! Sweet, love-infused tenor knocks the vocal out of the park on this one. Complemented by a flawless piano and guitar track, this provides such a pleasing listen. The echo effects at the end were a nice touch! You ought to have a lot of fans with that beautiful voice…I wish you every success!

Constructive Comments: I wasn’t really fond of the percussion. It was okay, but that knock sound seemed incongruent with the rest of the mood of the song. Maybe a softer hand percussion sound would lesson the blow..just a personal preference, so no big deal. The lyrics are pretty good…there were just some things I could not quite make out. Sometimes people like you who have amazing voices…it doesn’t seem to matter what you’re singing because you sound so pretty, but…. Clouds of sparkling dew – pretty phrase, but dew falls on grass…how do you get clouds of it? Did I hear “imported air”…what’s that? I love you so “unbelievably”. That one didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me either, because you sounded very believable. Hope I’m not picking too much, but just trying to tell you what I observed from the notes I took listening to your beautiful song twice.

Song: If You Were They And They Were You (Folk/Americana)

Positive Comments: This song has an important message, exposing the injustice of the past to the Native Americans and the black slaves. It challenges the listener: What you you do if you were they and they were you…a creative way of putting the listener in the shoes of the oppressed. Nice job on this song. Interesting intro…sounds like a muffled harmonica. Vocals are in tune and song is performed with a good, earnest kind of energy. My favorite rhyme: mansion with handsome.

Constructive Comments: The lead vocal is muddy and hard to pick out in the mix early on, but seems to improve as the song progresses. My guess is that this is a vintage or live recording, and you have to cut it some slack. So my suggestion for improvement would be to re-record it with a better vocal mike and a better mix/master. I really like the song, though! Great job!

Positive Comments: As I listened to your track, here are the words that popped into my head describing your composition: Mystery, intrigue, travel, search, imminent danger, not knowing what’s around the next corner, pursuit. The track is perfectly done (this coming from a novice in the soundtracks field). I may not know what I am talking about, but I like this track and the emotions it communicates. It’s well done, not overdone. The instrumentation choices are superb, nicely created, mixed and mastered. Ready for TV, movie, video….I wish you the best.

Constructive Comments: Nothing to suggest. You did a fantastic job!Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: Really nice and original tune. It took my attention from the first Singing part for the originality, but pleasant melody. Really nice the whistle parts. Great track.

Constructive Comments: I left the lyric score n/a because as I’m not an English native speaker I still have some difficult to understand words of the song. Keep up the good work.

Positive Comments: This was very nice and left me with a good feeling after listening. The guitar playing was very good and recorded well. Melody was very memorable and really good! Good melody writers are in short supply these days. Genre listing was on the money.

Constructive Comments: The one thing that stuck out to me was the piano. A softer sounding piano would have fit with the wonderful melody better. There are some great sampled pianos now that would have taken this song to the top level. Good stuff!

Positive Comments: This song was very nice and I actually listened to some parts multiple times. Keep up the good work!

Constructive Comments: My best constructive comments would be to work a little harder on the mixing of your song. I felt certain parts could have been louder such as percussion and lead lines. Other parts could have been more subdued to stay in their lane more and not infringe on the stars of the moment. Mixing is not an easy thing because you need multiple sources such as multiple headphones or speakers to listen to. Don’t quit until it sounds right on every system. Best to you and thanks for your song!

Positive Comments: Loved the eclectic feel of this and thought the songwriting had a lot of commercial potential!

Constructive Comments: Horn parts are written differently than a keyboard player would typically play but the biggest help would be to divide the chord up and play each part separately with a different brass instrument. Expanding the percussion would also add to the intrigue of the song. The writing was super fun! I still have a smile! Best to you!
