Positive Comments: Here’s a pretty scathing biography song of a big fake. The lyrics are biting and merciless as they describe the Pretender Man. It’s revealing it’s a warning, and very well written and performed. You get an “A” for originality. Song structure is tight…great bridge. The word pictures in this song are phenomenal “diamond he won in Vegas” “Bottom of the deck he deals an ace” “caravan parked outside of town half a mile” “silver smile”.

Constructive Comments: I wondered…who is the writer writing about? At first I thought “just somebody he knows who’s a fake”. Then I wondered, is he writing about his dad? Then at the end with the mirror, was he writing about himself? Then it becomes a very self-revealing song! You’ll have to fill me in. Another question: Did you use a rhyming dictionary as you wrote this song? Anyway: suggestions for improvement. Work on vocal clarity and enunciation so that the listener can pick up every word. Shorten the introduction. Improve the instrumentation. Guitar sounded kind of “lo-fi”. Song could be shorter…

Positive Comments: Here’s a soundtrack that grabs the listener from the first note. It’s just so sweet and natural. Every note flows beautifully. It would make a nice background for a love scene in a movie in a natural setting. I’m picturing early morning light, trees, and a couple finding each other by chance on an early morning walk and continuing on together. Beautiful keyboard, violin and strings work with a touch of percussion to build the track. Nicely done!

Positive Comments: Starts like a John Carpenter’s action/thriller/horror movie and then becomes something epical and majestic, then turns into a delicate piano only thing, then we have a dramatic flourish of strings crescendo. You know what you’re doing, apparently.

Constructive Comments: I hear the beat off in several sections. don’t think you are using a click track—big mistake.. also melodyne could be of benefit.this song is very loose and incohesive.I don’t recall my saying this so far–but I would probably scratch this song and start over with the same idea. it wouldn’t be too hard to top this cut.hope this helps===========catnip=========================

Constructive Comments: Well drawn character. Lyrically my only complaint would be that I don’t quite get a plot story twist. It’s all character, no development. I get it, she’s a pistol packing card player, but I’m not quite sure what the plot is other than that. Of that’s it, I’d just make it shorter. I’d also like to hear this really rock hard, maybe speeds up the tempo a bit. Still, very well set up character.

Positive Comments: Rockin those on the road on my bad ass BMW again blues, what’s not to like.

Constructive Comments: Basic blues style of playing is good, mix is unbalanced, vocal is to loud and doesn’t sit well within the mix. Starts out strong with well played grinding guitars and good tone, but voice doesn’t quite have the grit this kind of music requires, sing it like you really fucking mean it, till it hurts. Overall, for the attitude and the style, the performance is decent, but kind of tame.
