Reviewer: Simon Niclas Hahn

Positive Comments: A really nice flow during this track. Intrumentation and recording are excellent. It would work well for a film scene where the protagonist has to go his own way. Also good for a film, because the music doesn’t get too dominant and lets place for the motion picture. Good work!

Constructive Comments: The second part differs quite a lot from the first. I would like to hear a bit more from the first part at the final from part 2, maybe a big reprise of the piece around 2:58. Then it would sound more than a main theme. But not all soundtracks are main themes and so it’s more a matter of taste of the director.

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Wow what a great Blues Rock song! Loved the intro and the instrumentation is super tight. The organ/keys sound phenomenal. Bass is consistently fantastic. It stands alone well as an instrumental. Usually I don’t find that instrumentals reach out to me in a certain way, but this one was almost begging me to write lyrics for it! Awesome ending!

Constructive Comments: I would love to hear the version with lyrics! You guys really have it together as a band. I bet you’re fun to dance to!

Song: WHAT ARE YOU CRYIN FOR?

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Tight introduction, great instrumentation, love the lead guitar and bass is right on, sweet! Here’s a love gone wrong country song with crocodile tears as a unique feature. Home and always on the phone – great word picture. Crystal clear vocal, good story line. Nice ending.

Constructive Comments: I was looking for a rhyme on the last line of the chorus, something that rhymed with crocodile tears. This song wasn’t noticeably original, but it wasn’t so trite that I would complain about it!

Song: Common Sense

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Very cleverly written song on an original topic with a fresh idea. I like the contrasts expressed in each verse. Pretty clever way to hit on the LGBTQ debate with the rainbow/keep it all straight. Great melody and verse lyrics, excellent vocal performance and production! Crystal clear enunciation on the vocals.

Constructive Comments: The only beef I have with this song is the chorus. I had to look at the lyrics to figure out, what is he saying? Then I saw that you were pronouncing it clearly…I just didn’t GET it. The OMG is a commonly used acronym, but I felt like it didn’t work in the song. Nobody (I know) ever uses the word “should” in that way. Don’t should on me. That’s why I didn’t get it. The C’est la vie…well 1/2 of the people might get that, but that expression might be lost on the current generation. And the repartee…you lost me on that one, too. This is a really great song, but I would suggest a total rewrite of the chorus. Sorry to be so hard on you, but it’s just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. You really have a great song here!

Positive Comments: Nice production and layering! The drum and guitar sounds are meaty, and the changes are interesting.

Constructive Comments: In the absence of vocals, I wanted to hear some type of instrument jump in to take the lead, but that’s just a personal preference. Very nice instrumental piece!

Positive Comments: Full of energy and changes, and I love the hybrid of distorted guitars with orchestral undertones. The bass is nice and funky, and there is some nice vocal layering. I hear Korn, NIN and FNM influences, but it’s still distinct.

Constructive Comments: The vocal delivery is good, but it borders on cacophony at times when juxtaposed with the music. It might also be cool to incorporate one or two more melodic changes to give the track another hook to look forward to. These are just personal preferences, of course. Very cool track! 🙂

Positive Comments: The electric guitar in particular creates a nice dreamy vibe. Reminds me a bit of things I love from the 80s.

Constructive Comments: There are some nice ideas here, but they sound quality of the synth and drums is very low, and the drum beat doesn’t change at all. Upgrading to higher quality synth sounds and increasing the dynamics of the drums will help a lot! 🙂

Positive Comments: Beautiful harmonies! The production is very good, and the song has a transcendent quality.

Constructive Comments: Without some more changes and modulation, the song is a bit long. The vocals are almost perfect, but the high “do-do-do’s” at the end don’t work for me (just a personal preference). But overall, the song works as a transcendent, peaceful listen! 🙂
