Positive Comments: I love intros that just jump right into it! Very nicely done. Good guitar playing.

Constructive Comments: It is very well done but, let the bass cut loose more with some walking lines to add another dimension to the overall musicianship. Keep up the great work.

Song: Family Eatz (2019 Instrumental Demo)

Reviewer: Marc S. Pate

Positive Comments: Definitely an unusual intro. Some very clever and talented instrumentation.

Constructive Comments: Not really a blues tune but, it is very interesting. It feels like it is really trying to build up to something but never quite gets there.

Broadjam Artist: Neil Fergus
Song: Make a River Cry

Reviewer: Peter Boynton

Positive Comments: -I like the sentiment and the vibe-I like the hook/title-I hear a country rock arrangement when you’re ready – big electric guitars!-the archetypical ‘wanderin’ man’ is always a great theme-simple chordal structure

Constructive Comments: -the word ‘fly’ throws me in your chorus it gives me a different meaning of ‘freedom’ than you might be going for? Maybe a word like ‘drive’, for example, that captures the singer’s wandering streak, or ‘put down miles’…still near or perfect rhymes for ‘cry’ at the end of the chorus.-your vocal/lyric melody in both the verses and the chorus have the same interval range of @a 4th from top to bottom. Maybe you could add contrast, tension and hold the listener’s attention more if you change the lyric/melodic rhythm and intervals in the chorus to set it off? Maybe take the melody up to a higher range in the chorus?-Vs2 and the chorus have rhyme schemes: vs2 is ABAB, and AABB for the chorus. You have no rhyme scheme in vs1 to help me land with you on each line as the listener. Maybe find another ABAB scheme to match vs2?-good bones here for a good song!

Broadjam Artist: Greg Lambert
Song: Killing Time (Instrumental)

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Style-wise, reminds me of throwback Doobie Brothers. The band is pretty tight and the demo has potential.

Constructive Comments: All treble all the time. I think the mix is off somewhat and pretty dirty. I’d love to hear a cleaner version where all instruments got equal footing.

Positive Comments: Solid chord progression and some nice possibilities.

Constructive Comments: Way, way too much distortion almost across the board and the keyboard strings don’t sound natural. The players can play but this needs re-recording.

Song: Just For Fun

Positive Comments: Love the power and the backing band is tight as hell. Really nice dynamic changes as well. Strong chord progression even if somewhat basic. I could listen to this kind of funk rock blues all day.

Constructive Comments: I would like to hear the lead guitar cut loose even more, but all good.

Song: Down Hampton Way /Jazz

Reviewer: Bill Dake

Positive Comments: A little vamp in Eb.

Constructive Comments: This sounds more like a 1st draft. a jam session, than a finished piece. A lot of the parts are a bit disjointed, not really meshing. Work on locking in the rhythm section, find the pocket. The melody could be more effective if it had a bridge and perhaps a change from major to minor for a brief interlude. Keep working on the fundamentals, the best ROI (return on investment) is knowledge.
