Positive Comments: Great storyline !

Constructive Comments: I really liked this , think I played it 3 or 4 times . Loved the piano , which I would have liked to have been more prominent in the mix . Maybe a short intro instead of going straight in , and for me the chorus could have been half it’s length to maximise it’s impact .But then I guess that’s not how you see things !

Positive Comments: Good idea for a song and the energy is there. Keep working and add some instruments

Constructive Comments: Recording is so out of balance with the vocal 2-3 times as loud as the backing. Definitely needs additional instruments as well.

Song: That’s Nathans Chicken

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Good solid groove, closer to R&B than Rock. Definite 70s throwback sound other than the drums.

Constructive Comments: This song would benefit greatly from a live drummer with funk chops. Hard to feel true funk with constant quarter-note bass drum.

Song: Not a Technicolor Dream

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: This is a very interesting love song. It flits between darkness and light and the light wins. Love the references to childhood terrifying dreams and the television scenes. Very unique approach in the lyric writing. The song changes up enough to keep the listener on his/her toes, wondering where this is all going. The vocalist has an absolutely beautiful voice and the harmonies/back up vocals are right on. The instrumentation is stellar great production and mix. The addition of the strings (cello) was also beautiful. I like the way the relationship brought healing that was also originally presented.

Constructive Comments: Maybe the word history was a bit overused? I didn’t like the way the word reality was divided up…seemed a bit awkward.

Positive Comments: Great intro. This song took me back to Elvis. The vocal inflections and mood of the song were so Presley. This retro song really made me smile! Favorite rhyme: care/teddy bear. I liked the guitar lead. This is definitely a danceable song with a catchy hook. Great job!

Constructive Comments: I had to listen twice to get all the lyrics. It was a little easier to understand the second time around. Please post the lyrics. I’d bring the vocal up in the mix, at least at the beginning for a strong, understandable vocal start.

Song: We Are One

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: I love a good patriotic song and this one has top ranking in my book! I loved the great piano arrangement and the heartfelt performance of the song. You could tell the vocalist really meant what he was singing. I love the emphasis on the fact that we have more in common than we think and that’s what we should focus on. I really like the chorus – it was familiar (Statue of Liberty, stars and stripes flying free) but the way it was put together sounded original and fresh. Love the melting pot/one nation under God. Bridge is also well written. I don’t see any reason why this song should not have some degree of commercial success, but even more than that, I hope it inspires unity and diffuses some of the insanity as described in the first verse. Loved the separate/hate rhyme. Some really great lyrics!

Constructive Comments: Please post the lyrics to your song. The vocal seemed a bit strained at times, but not enough to make me cringe. One thing that I think would really enhance this song would be the addition of a female vocal, at least on the chorus, some harmony or something to soften it up a bit, take the edge of that male vocal. On verse two, what does “we thank you” rhyme with? I wish you every success with this song. I really like it!
