Positive Comments: It’s a classic so a lot of the work is done. I like the hook a lot of course. It’s a great song for TV. The bed of the track is a good place to start. It has a spooky vibe that is very appealing.

Constructive Comments: The tympani drums are great. This is one that could benefit from a couple of versions. A version on a reverbed-out Gretsch guitar sound with a heavy, slow swing pocket much like a Lana Del Rey track. Another version go be cinematic even.

Song: There but for the grace of god

Reviewer: Trey Bruce

Positive Comments: I like the underlying pocket of the song. The groove provides a good places to start. I like that the lyric is generic and just speaks to all people in a general way. The messages a good one of what I call, doing the next right thing.

Constructive Comments: I think the song could benefit from a really current sounding r&b track, subtle, sparse and understated. If I were the writer of this song, I would do a version with a female lead vocal as well, probably on the new-ish sounding track.

Positive Comments: I love the time signature change that happens at the choruses. For a genre I chose unique because there wasn’t a theater or Disney genre/category. The range was really nice. dynamic without over doing it.

Constructive Comments: I would suggest a version on acoustic guitar with a minimalist approach to the part as well as a few ominous pads. A few synth perc movements for the choruses might work depending on the sound of the hits and possibly a slight throb down low, choruses only as the verses seem to be floating around the tempo.

Song: You’re The Best Of Me

Reviewer: Trey Bruce

Positive Comments: I like the melody in the verses. The song could work in country radio as an outside cut. The lyric stays unconnected to hard specifics which makes it an easier song to place. The best of me serves well as a post chorus chant and that leaves the possibility open for giving it a fresh title like, “when angels look at you”.

Constructive Comments: I would suggest a more exciting movement in the chorus melody, nothing drastic but some mild changes would help. I would make better use of the “best of me” hook after the choruses by changing the phrasing a small bit and adding a bgv part that feels fun.
