Positive Comments: The song’s melody has very distinctive hooks and is very catchy. Excellent vocal and use of a doubled-up vocal on the chorus. Great chord progression. I love the piano on this. The lyrics are excellent and a great play on words as ‘I wonder’ morphs in to ‘wonder boy’. Still on the subject of the lyrics, I like the irony of the upbeat music juxtaposed with what are quite melancholic words as the girl fails to impress the boy due to shyness and she imagines what might have been.
Constructive Comments: I’ve heard this song before, probably when I was browsing and I remember it very well. That’s a good sign – it’s memorable. I’ve marked down the quality of the recording because I feel the instrumental track could be a tad brighter. It might be that the instruments have been over compressed, or that the instrumental track would benefit from a remastering.
