Positive Comments: It is effective as a somber, melancholy piece. I wouldn’t classify it as pop, though. More electronic or new age, maybe? It starts out strong…grabs you from the beginning.

Constructive Comments: The instrumentation seemed a bit muddy to my ear. Maybe reduce the reverb a bit? I’d also try to change underlying beat and chord changes a bit more, and vary the hardness of the notes (they seem to have the same strength behind them, and it might be very effective to alter velocities a bit. Also maybe try starting out with just strings and gradually building other instrumentation?

Positive Comments: Totally like the vocal and the instrumentation. Nice steel guitar and harmonica work. Enjoying the backing vocals and the vocal deliveries in general. Interesting and creative chord progression. Nice job with this song! I could see this ending up in a movie soundtrack. Cool hook and nice variations on the delivery of it.

Constructive Comments: Not much negative to add. It sounds a bit dated, but it is after all a classic country song so I would not expect it to sound any other way.
