Positive Comments: Nice, quiet, relaxing piece. Instrumentation is well balanced and playing is well executed.

Constructive Comments: This piece was listed as Jazz, but seems to be more in the pop/movie theme genre. No real criticisms about the tune. What might help would be to bring the energy level up a bit, expand on the theme. Also, I had a hard time recognizing a distinct melody. Bring the lead out more in front of the mix.( could explain why I found it hard to hear a distinct melody). This is some nice music, just needs some tweaking.

Positive Comments: Piano held the tune together. Vocal was clear and spot on. Lyric speaks of a sad situation.

Constructive Comments: This song would sound strong with a full production. Lyrically I understand the meaning of the song…but it’s kind of a bummer to be with someone that you don’t want especially when the feeling isn’t mutual. A twist would be at the end she feels the same way and you both happily separate. Just an opinion. Nice tune. 🙂

Positive Comments: What a difficult topic and theme to write and sing about. You’ve managed to bridge a subject that is very tricky to get the correct balance with. You’ve done a great job in getting that balance right…not too downbeat and not dismissing the theme of missing someone due to a tragedy. Vocals are great-very powerful and match the tone of the track. It has the hallmarks of a good, old-fashioned pop/rock song with a great guitar solo in the middle. My attention was never lost at any point and the length of the track was also very suitable as a song about such a subject can lost its impact if it is too long-this was spot on!Really enjoyed this track-well done and thanks for writing such a poignant song.

Constructive Comments: I have nothing particularly specific to add other than perhaps suggesting that you could have referred to Sep 11th in a way that maybe didn’t mention the date directly? This would make this track more relatable to others who have suffered similar tragic circumstances but not related to 9/11. Just a very minor suggestion that would not take away from the meaning of this very specific event that is sung about, but allow others to connect with the song through their own tragedies.

Reviewer: John Walradt

Positive Comments: Mr. George Winston, are you looking for a new tune to record? We’ve got one for you! This tune begins with a beautiful and memorable motif like a fluttering autumn leaf and is wisely repeated throughout the song. I love those alternating notes, b and d, repeated three times per measure and the delicate, beautiful melody built upon it. It’s hooky, too, so it sticks and would work for any album or movie looking for a theme.

Constructive Comments: This is a lovely piano piece. Personal thought maybe to experiment with: if you were to decide to try adding any orchestration to it, I’d add it faintly beginning around 2:17 and building up lightly so it would always echo.
