Positive Comments: Overall a solid tune with very solid performances vocally and instrumentation wise. The mix sounded pretty well balanced. The song kept my attention from the start with the opening bass line and held it till the end. I liked the vocalists style. It definitely reminded me of something out of the late 90’s or early 2000’s. Maybe a little INXS in there which is in my opinion always a good thing. Keep it up.

Constructive Comments: I hope I get to review more songs from this artist. Thanks!!

Positive Comments: I really enjoyed this track! It very much reminded me of early Avril Lavigne at points, along with shades of Michelle Branch and at times, the low notes remind me of Heart (80s rock band)!!! I could very easily see this track being used in a teen-angst movie where the lead character is trying to justify why they are sticking to their guns and refusing to conform. Very strong vocals which suggest at a real versatility and an ability to sing across multiple genres.Brilliant job-well impressed!

Constructive Comments: One suggestion would have been to have added a piano in the background to accompany the really effective guitar repeated riffs?

Song: Warm And Dry (folk/rock final revision)

Positive Comments: The first thing that makes a song for me is the melody. The body of the song has a pleasant tune that’s easy to follow, but what really does it is that chorus! It’s hooky and memorable. It works well lyrically, too, telling a soothing story of being together. The easy jingle-jangle guitar gives a pleasant steady background beat. The song has a pleasant progression, starting with voice and guitar, adding more instruments as the tune builds. I could see this being a hit from a movie.

Constructive Comments: First constructive comment: nice job, so have a beer! Next, a couple of personal interpretive ideas to play with: beginning at 2:00, how about decreasing the volume of the claps about 10 percent and maybe the slightest echo to soften them to complement the mood of the lyrical theme? From 2:25 to 2:45, what would you think of a sound less shrill, orchestral strings (but seriously, I’m not saying to make it sound like Mantovani! Just had to say that to poke a little fun at my suggestion!), and maybe soften the vocal at 3:20 like 3:09, but just a little, it doesn’t have to be exact! Of course, you know your tune best. Final comment: you really know how to craft the melodies! I like that!

Song: Funk To The Rhythm

Positive Comments: The saxophone/trumpet is my favorite aspect of this piece. It’s got an extremely catchy vibe! The loop-based composition (as in arranging your custom work as loops) is done well. There’s a clear use of layering up to that initial brass lead and is quite fun. I could see that being the bass of a hook, such as in Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, or, Thrift Shop by Macklemore. Both highly successful, and because of a quality lick like this thrown in )

Constructive Comments: For a song nearly six minutes long, I feel there is at most 2mins of content here. Maybe it’s an extended remix, but, even so, the track just isn’t suited for this in my opinion. The intro is just way too long, you need to grab people in the first few seconds, not an entire two mins in like me, with the sax. The core synths are all so close to one another. Almost as if you used the same patch on different lanes? It’s extremely muddy and sounds like it’s from the early 2000s, since it powers the mix, and there are no vocals, it just isn’t an endearing sound in 2020. This is Broadjam, not Soundcloud. I feel if five stars are for somebody just as talented as Bruno and Macklemore, this track is stuck in a clear hobbyist level, but certainly isn’t bad. The rating is relative to the best in the industry, considering what site this is. I encourage you to keep making music! This is my opinion, I only ask you to take the feedback in rather than giving a 1-star rating.

Song: You Can Just tell

Reviewer: Timothy Reed

Positive Comments: I like the instrumentation in this song. As a lyricist, I began to hear lyrics as I listened. I would love to write with this songwriter. There is lots of flavor to this song and it can easily be filled with strong lyrics and be a song that moves people. Keep up the great work and I love that you use so many instruments in this song. It is beautiful.

Constructive Comments: I am more of a lyricist, so I am going to stray away from judging the arrangement too harshly. I wasn’t a huge fan of the the first two bars but then the song kicked in and I could feel it moving. Again, as a lyricist, I began to feel the story in the song and lyrics were popping into my head. That means it worked for me.
