Positive Comments: The melody is good. Could have been instrumental.
Constructive Comments: The final mix is weak. Vocal is on the extreme right and recorded badly. Fade outs on left channel. The mix is a little sloppy. Guitar is louder than the rest of the mix. The mix ix poorly done.

Positive Comments: Like the whole song.
Constructive Comments: vocals were a weak element. It could have more instrumentation, the guitar alone has some flaws. I like the song, but needs minor vocal mix as well as overall depth.

Song: Special You

Positive Comments: Nothing like a smooth jazzy pop piece reminiscent of the 1950s crooners. This one delivers! It has all the instrumentations used during that time. It has a very good melody for winding down with a glass of wine. Lyrically sentimental, the words flow with the easy flow of the tune. The harmonies at about 3 1/2 minutes and on are exquisite!
Constructive Comments: The words and music stand on its own on this tune, so an automatic 4 and 5 stars! That is, I can hum it or sing it with one instrument and it holds up. Personal bias (sometimes not quite fair): for originality…lots of songs with sentiment and lyrics similar to these but that’s certainly okay since this song works so well and the sentiment is heartwarming. I would like an intro that would have smoother strings, most with a lower pitch while keeping one high, and a keyboard to match the song that follows. I would experiment. Marketability if you chose to?…absolutely!

Song: VICTORY (instrumental)

Positive Comments: You’ve got the tune on this one, and it’s a catchy one. The arrangement works perfectly with a minimalist intro leading to more instrumentation. It keeps a solid beat and feel. This tune could be used in videos that would feature a march.
Constructive Comments: The basis for any song are words and music that can stand on its own. That is, you can hum it or play it with one instrument and the tune gets through. Without that there’s nothing to build on. You have that with this tune and so that’s an automatic 4 and 5 stars across the board. The rest is interpretation and personal bias…so here’s mine: I’d keep the power in the tune but I would soften it with some reverb or echo, but always start conservatively. If you’re using midi, look in the piano roll and manually stretch some of the notes so they meld into one another more easily. I would do that as an experiment in a copy of the file. By all means keep the original!

Positive Comments: This will be an easy review. I can’t say I listen to this genre often, or ever, but it was easy and interesting to listen to. The poetry was awesome and the vocal fits the song very well. Maybe you’ve made a new fan! The music (instrumentation) is noticeably top notch and very nice quality. Good going! Once I know who you are after this review, I will check in on your other music.
Constructive Comments: Broadjam wants me critique this song (piece) in order to complete my review, but this is sometimes very hard to do. Your composition is somewhat unique and the genre is not often come across. I’m accustomed to critiquing musicianship, vocals and harmony. I can not find anything here to recommend to you that would make this piece better. Good Work!!

Positive Comments: The vocals are good and fun to listen to! Pitch and timbre are right on. Musicianship creates the mood perfectly. Lyrics are too cool, I love the aura they create for me. Love the background vocal work, too. This is a really fun song to listen to. Love the ending! Very easy to keep my attention to what’s going on. Good work all!
Constructive Comments: Broadjam says I have to critique this song to complete the review. Sometimes this is hard to do, as is this song. Since I have recommend something to you, I would have to say I would like more drums to help bring out the funky-ness of the song. A loud, tight bass and drum beat would make this even more totally cool. Good work all!

Song: All You Are

Positive Comments: Thank you for such an easy review. Great vocals and lyric content. Musicianship is great, no awkward moments or bad notes. Vocals are at pitch and the timbre of the voice is nice to listen to. Harmonies fit well. The drums are really nice, very good tone on them and played very well. The guitar solo at the end has a nice and very fitting tone. All the rhythm guitar work is right on.
Constructive Comments: My only complaint would be the mix. As I am hearing this on my end, I would like to hear the drums more pronounced (louder in the mix), and the bass is buried. I am a bass and rhythm person and find myself always advocating the point of more bass and drums. The main vocal might be just a tad loud in the mix, but don’t bury it, it’s tone and lyric has to still be heard.

Positive Comments: Very nice laid back groove going on. Love the Fender Rhodes, nicely done here. Really enjoyed the electric guitar sound and playing also. Nice mix, everything seems to be in the right place. I have to mention that I’m a HUGE Steely Dan fan and right from the opening riff it very much has that “Dan” feel, which is a huge compliment. Enjoyed it very much, well done!
Constructive Comments: I wouldn’t change a thing. Nice work!
