Positive Comments: the groove here is really nice, I liked the hand claps – overall this has a really nice, mellow feeling, like a sunday afternoon.

Constructive Comments: I would have cut one of the patterns as the repetition doesn’t really go anywhere dynamically. overall this is a nicely done track.

Positive Comments: cool retro groovenice guitar pickin’sweet mix and really nice vocal harmony supportproduction is sweet – bass is right in the pocket.well done all the way around – the big man likes it! LOL

Constructive Comments: the only thing I’m hearing is just a bit of harshness in the vocal tone (almost a crackle, but it could just be my tired old ears).

Song: Who’s Sorry Now

Positive Comments: really liked the layering, with all the swirling back vocals and strings.Liked the interplay between the guitar and the piano, nice give and take there – someone was paying attention!this has a nice retro feel that’s been updated, very nice

Constructive Comments: to my ear the lead vocals could come forward in the mix a whole bunch, other than that this is a very solid effort. I also would have ended the song a bit sooner (liked the breakdown at the end, but felt that the last 8 or 16 before that really didn’t go anywhere or add to the song).

Song: Post Cards From Sonora Corey’s 2

Positive Comments: Good instrumentation, clear vocal and interesting story.Quality song for pitching to old school country music requests.

Constructive Comments: Hook, title of song doesn’t come out too well. I think needs a title somewhat more repetitive in the chorus to engage the listener. Not really suitable for pitching to modern contemporary music requests unless specifically for ‘old style’ country songs.

Broadjam Artist: Good Advice
Song: O Fortuna

Reviewer: Simpson-Mancine Productions

Positive Comments: An interesting juxtaposition of classical music progression meets modern poetry, with lyrical concepts that build a series of questions around the historical/mythological idea of “Fortuna”. There are some bold, evocative lyrics here, only held back by a relatively quiet and restrained recording.

Constructive Comments: Weaving a fuller, more dynamic vocal recording in with the current track might make this more impactful and effective. One of the tricks with a lo-fi vocal approach is to make sure it sounds intentional (whether it is or not), and it may only take a small change establishing the full audio-range to keep the listener more engaged and carry the lyrics more effectively.

Song: HE THOUGHT HE WAS RIGHT (featuring Jerry Spencer)

Reviewer: David James

Positive Comments: Superb short into. The song is catchy. Entertaining lyrics with a coherent story. Great vocal performance. The guitar work is tremendous, particularly on the bridge. Solid song structure. I like the way the verses build their intensity before the choruses come in. The choruses are distinctive as they should be. The reply vocal in the choruses is effective. Powerful outro.

Constructive Comments: I marked down the recording because the maybe some of the levels are slightly out. For example the drums sound a bit low in the mix. Otherwise a strong piece of work worth pitching for someone wanting a Country song.

Song: Line in the Sand

Reviewer: David James

Positive Comments: I love the sparse intro. Strong lead vocalist who really sells the song with conviction. Good use of backing vocals which are used just in the right places. Great lyrics which have a poetic quality. The musicianship is spot on. Great drum sound and performance. Excellent sound quality. Catchy song. Shades of U2 about the song.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the instrumentation and arrangement because the guitar arpeggios build tension in the verses but that tension is never truly released because the arpeggios continue into the choruses. In other words I would expect more differentiation in terms of arrangement and instrumentation between the verses and the choruses to give release to that tension. The choruses are catchy and anthemic, which the vocalist delivers, but the instrumentation behind him needs more oomph in my opinion.
