Song: Love Is In The Things I Do

Reviewer: Sam Cooper

Positive Comments: Love the voice. That is the selling point here. Cool song overall.

Constructive Comments: The production is good, but there would be something stronger with greater dynamics of some kind. It just sounds a little too generic for my tastes. I was once told, good isn’t good enough.

Positive Comments: Easy listening pop music.

Constructive Comments: If it were up to me, I’d ditch that drum track in favor of one that doesn’t sterilize the recording. There are no appreciable dynamics here, not enough passion.

Song: Time Of Forgiveness

Positive Comments: Nicely textured arrangement and a sixties-style of lyrics and message, not unlike the biblical-inspired hit, “Turn, Turn, Turn” from The Byrds. Some might think it’s dated, but I think it is close to timeless.

Constructive Comments: Overall good production as is.

Positive Comments: The song choice is an excellent one to cover. Quite a different vibe than the hit.

Constructive Comments: This is a tough road, taking a classic hit song and trying to make it your own. It doesn’t work for me, but best of luck on your success with it.

Constructive Comments: What can I say. Won’t hit the top 40 on AM radio but its one that could be done over and over. Great job on this one I’m impressed and maybe a little bit in love!

Positive Comments: Very deep lyrics really makes you think about the meaning of them. The vocals were spot on for the lyric and the feel almost Dylanish. I could see it in a movie or TV scene.

Constructive Comments: The lyrics are certainly deep but maybe a little too deep. The more complex the lyric it makes a song less attractive to the masses. The hook could be stronger as well something you may hum hours after. A well done performance though

Positive Comments: Really interesting song with extremely unique lyrics and concept. I especially enjoyed the harmonies and the vocals were spot on for the feel of the song. A very nice arrangement and has potential in a time piece film or TV show. Overall very well done!

Constructive Comments: Not much to critique this is obviously a professional quality song. Not for the Radio but a movie in another timeframe could certainly fit. A really well done tune.

Constructive Comments: I get the song and get the lyrics but I was waiting for the hook to say more rather than repeat. Not much more to critique really nice smooth feel I think the overall project is a winner!

Song: Demons In Your Darkness

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Very smooth Blues groove. It’s listed as Country Rock, but I think putting this in Blues would get the right ears on it. Well-written song with excellent blend on the instruments. Could easily be used in a film/TV sequence, especially the instrumental version.

Constructive Comments: The harmonies just after the 3:00 mark could be tightened up and mixed a little smoother, but I really like this song a lot. For me, I think it’s just in the wrong category. If anything more Rock and a whole lot less Country.

Song: Attention to Detail

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Equal parts The Byrds and The Cars, this is a very interesting piece with a retro sound. I could see the instrumental version working in a film or TV scene with a matching throwback vibe. Nice mix on the instruments across the board.

Constructive Comments: Right now, the use of the word “slave” in anything can be misconstrued so you might consider re-working just that bit. Otherwise it’s a fun little tune.
