Positive Comments: Unique techno pop song with lots of rhythms, beats and sub-rhythms and sub-beats. I found this song to be very interesting in a different sort of way. I want to say something about the song felt unorthodox which contributed to its uniqueness. Definitely had an easy going, freewheeling vibe to it. I liked the different rhythms that came in and out of the song. And the occasional sax was a nice touch

Constructive Comments: Something about the vocal style and even the tone of vocals didn’t seem to fit with the music. I almost felt like the singer should be more “funky” for lack of a better word, to go with the music. On the other hand I think that dichotomy made the song kind of differeint and interesting. So I am not sure if it is deliberate or not.

Positive Comments: The vocal is STRONG. I LOVE the bright “ah” vowel on tell me “why.” It is a very unique vocal sound, and I’m so impressed with your confidence in it…because of how unique it is. The four and the floor, straight forward rock sound is money. The quality of the recording is really great, whoever you worked with (if anyone) to achieve the sound you did made it work. I love the vocal going up an octave (or maybe its a key change) after the instrumental. Really, there is a lot of good stuff here. Keep it up.

Constructive Comments: I’m surprised to see the “prog rock” classification. Maybe some Jethro Tull feel in the middle? I would love the vocalist to play with singing some Pixies, some Weezer and Nirvana. Not for the sake of copying it, but to learn. I have a feeling you can sing way beyond what you think (I realize I might be wrong) and there could be something uniquely modern in what you’re doing. I just feel like you could really capture a unique sound that is consistent. I would find a talented guitar player to build on the straight forward rhythm guitar line. It seems like its missing something. I’d also be curious to hear this song another 20 clicks faster. I bet it would be awesome, and you’d sing it awesome.

Positive Comments: I love the piano work. I’m assuming we’re working with a pianist singer here? There is a ton of potential for a lot of work. The sound is unique, and it definitely fits a niche. I appreciate the unique vocal and the accordion (?) I’m imagining taking in the song while having a glass of wine with my wife on a terrace somewhere. The arrangement is light and airy, which works. I would like to hear more.

Constructive Comments: The effect on the vocal is too much for my taste. And listening to the vocal, I don’t think you need it. I write piano/vocal a lot, and I’ve always struggled making it sound the way I want to. Using my Iphone and recording in my living room with garageband makes me happier that spending big money in a fancy studio as to my vocal. I’d like to hear this song with just the piano and vocal. And I’d like to hear it natural and present. Don’t think you need drums and other instruments in your style overly often. To me, this would be a great piece with “less equaling more” in terms of the arrangement and any effect to the sound.

Positive Comments: This is open, optimistic, authentic country/folk/rock n roll and I love that. Vocally I’m hearing this great blend of Cat Stevens meets alt country. I love that I’m hearing straight forward, all american music here. I appreciate the text very much, as it balances with the feel of the music. Its seemingly simple text, but its far from it. The lyrics combined with the voice show real promise and I would definitely like to hear more.

Constructive Comments: The song feels rushed to me. I’m imagining it being played just with guitar and vocal, as written (?), and I’m curious if that were more of the style towards arrangement. I think it’s because of the bass line and percussion. What if the bass were to hold the “tonic” here and there, while the guitar continues to play the 1 and 5 chord as is. As to the drums, instead of feeling like the snare has to hit on every 2 and 4, what if the high hit were to be more prominent? Or what if you’d hit the bass drum on 2 or 4 here and there to mix it up? The guitar should drive the rhythm (in my opinion) and if that’s true, the bass and percussion can sit back a bit more? It just feels a little forced….and I’d try to take it to a little bit more of a folk feel.

Positive Comments: An exceptional instrumental example of Americana / Bluegrass with a beautiful mix on the instruments. Could easily be used as a backdrop in film or TV as-is. This may be an instrumental version of a full vocal song….can’t really tell, but it’s an enjoyable listen from start to finish.

Constructive Comments: For me, the only thing this suffers from is not being listed in the right category. I don’t think it bears much resemblance from what you hear on Country charts, which is what Contemporary would be. Country Americana or Country Bluegrass is where this should be, with my leaning toward Americana. You may not get the exact right ears on this in a Contemporary category.
