Positive Comments: This is outside the box, but I am into outside the box. Sparce keyboards and megaphone sounding eq on the vocal over a little light drum machine beat. Great stuff!

Constructive Comments: I love that you had the balls to do something that wasn’t typical in-your-face crap! Keep being different!

Positive Comments: Really nice instrumentation, lots of smooth sounds and well-recorded saxophones. I like the balance and the groove is super-catchy. Well done with a nice sense of humor!

Constructive Comments: I felt the vocals could tighten up (both lead and harmonies) but that’s just personal taste. Fun song!

Positive Comments: Nice Mark Knopfler-esque guitar vibe, and a smooth reggae groove. Excellent guitar tone on both the lead and rhythm accents. This is a very easy listen. When the drums come in fully around 2:27 it gives more depth to the piece.

Constructive Comments: The early snare drum-only accents are just out of time. I would re-mix this either with re-recorded snare, or no snare at all until 2:27. The sound is really good and being off-tempo is a big distraction in my opinion (I played drums professionally for 20+ years, so I’m sensitive to that). Still a nice little tune!

Constructive Comments: I consider this closer to Pop than Rock, but it’s a great effort regardless.

Song: what a nice day

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Nice drive and an interesting arrangement. I really liked the chord progression that has subtle changes to keep it interesting The guitar sounds are exceptional, particularly the rhythm guitar. This could have a future in a film or TV background. This has more of a Pop/Rock sound than a Modern Rock sound and might benefit from a category change to get the right listeners.

Constructive Comments: For my taste, the drums sound too artificial and programmed. Everything else about this song has a wonderful human feel, and that took down the overall ratings (instrumentation, arrangement and overall). I think it’s too good a song to have what sounds like percussion samples and effects.

Positive Comments: Interesting piece! Sounds more like a cue then a song. I could definitely hear this in some sort of tension filled murder mystery type of TV film or documentary style tv show. The far-out child laughing or crying sound fx was kinda cool I just wasn’t sure why it happened, but that could be something personal to the writer. I kind of inside joke for lack of better words. If so, I know all about it because I will add fx like that occasionally to my songs as well. Interesting in a good way. I could definitely see it being used/licensed if that is the intent for the piece.

Constructive Comments: Not sure if Alternative New Age is the right genre for it, but I am also not sure what genre I would put it in either.. Unique for sure!!
