Constructive Comments: In a song like this shorten the intro since the music doesn’t change that much all the way through. would like to hear more rhythm in the vocal in spots. Keep it going!

Positive Comments: I like the horn solos in both parts of the song and in the chorus. I feel it’s a unique hook lyric but it works for this genre. Loved the ending with the organ and the organ throughout. I also liked the bridge.

Constructive Comments: I would say this is more of a blues song than R&B. I like the lead vocal for this style. Music a little too loud in and I really couldn’t make out the overall lyrics at times. Keep it going!

Positive Comments: I would say the lead vocal was very good. As well as the background vocals. I love the harmonies and the message in the hook. The hook was strong. I also like the guitar work and the string arrangements

Constructive Comments: the beginning of the song from a mix standpoint was way too loud. I also felt it was too long. Get that vocal in sooner since it is so well done. Good job!

Positive Comments: You’ve written a lovely haunting, atmospheric melody, in the spirit of the Cocteau Twins, or the 4AD label, and your frail slight airy vocals are very lovely. The uniqueness of your style is what works best in this song. It’s not the usual everyday pop song. I really enjoy this. Choice of instruments is great. This is a song I could listen to several times and not tire of it.

Constructive Comments: The lyrics are wonderfully painful and resigned. I think they could be made more descriptive which would add more punch to the song. Keep the analogy of being a pawn in a game but add some analogies like being kicked around like sand on a beach, discarded like fallen leaves. Or perhaps keeping with a game of chess: I try to move into an acceptable square, you smirk and change the rules with relish, I’ll never win.
